well as a habit i always have to ask if anyone watches code lyoko. it's nerdy that i ask, but I'm always curious to see if anyone likes it at all.
-
I actually am a fan of this show. For some reason it's kinda cool. It's gotten more...actiony since this season, but I can barely see it since I get home before the shows on >_>;;
Edit: And please, don't comment on how big their forheads are. That's just getting old -_-
-
if you go to teklinks.org and join the board you can download season four episodes. that what i do.
-
Glance carefully at the title beneath the avatar. What do you think my answer is?
-
I've occasionally glanced it's way, and it's typical of the American dubbing process: poorly thought out. It's set in France yet there are times when everyone acts as if they live in the United States. Dippies, all of them.

well that's true about season 1 and 2. but season four is somewhat better, although they still occasionally reuse scenes.
-
Yeah, but re-use of scenes is pretty common in shows with CG in 'em.
-
I was speaking more of the quality of the dubbing as a whole. They tend to shift terms, sometimes even within an episode, occasionally referring to a supercomputer as a supercalculator. I can understand why that might happen--bad or literal translations--but it should be caught in script writing.
Then there's the fact that many things said are...well...stupid. The show is hardly deep, obviously, but still...it's almost too simple with some of the dialog.
That said, in it's own way it's still better than many things I've seen that were created in the United States, and I am mildly fond of Aelita.
-
I always thought Ailita (sp? she's the fully digital character at least for the first season) was cute.

The spelling is Aelita, B. And yeah, she seems to be the one most fans drool over.
-
i like Aelita as well. she is the character that can be simple and complex, she's a bit more interesting than the others. i do think the pink is overdone.
pink hair
pink shirt
pink pants
pink boots
pink energy blast
pink face paint.
the only none pink thing about her is her eyes.
but still a great character.

FOREHEADS MY GOD THE FOREHEADS. THE FRENCH SHOULD NEVER DRAW ANIME.

Okay, Grey, seriously: cut it out. Or I swear I'll reach through the internet itself and beat you with my walking stick.
-
you know after watching it enough you get used to it. it took me 2 seasons to get used to the foreheads, but that was because they kept on reusing that close up on their foreheads.
-
I think they left the foreheads large simply for the sake of letting the characters be more expressive; but that's only a guess.

because they honestly are more expressive then other anime with smaller heads.
The french just fail at heads.
-
Grey, for Christ's sake, would you stop with the trolling, please?

dude, that wasn't trolling. That was disproving an argument for the big old heads.
-
May I ask why the foreheads are all that bothersome? They're just part of the animation style from what I can tell.
-
I don't like the animation style that much personally, but not enough to complain about it.
-
I have to say though the show has been getting better. And stop with the god damn forhead comment already. WE GET THE GOD DAMN POINT!...I don't think it's that bad. hey look at dbz, they have hair that stands 20 ft yet no one complains about that.

because the anatomy is so fucked up at that point. I mean, if you can draw a body, why the hell would you put up a dexter's lab head up on there? why not even try to make it smaller.

True, but have you ever heard of people not making fun of DBZ for KKKKKKAAAAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEE*five episodes later* HAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*another episode.* HHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
hell, one of the big jokes is the joke line "are they still on namek?" because it took forever.

I've compalned about that on several occations.

So? Plenty of animation styles exaggerate bodies and features. That's simply part of the animation style. Does the style truly suffer from it? Is it that big a distraction?
I'm not necessarily defending it per se. I'm just trying to figure out why a certain aspect of the animation style is so bothersome. It's not like they're exaggerating breast sizes, after all. (There you'd have me complaining.)

It's just... annoying to look at. I guess cause its so easy to draw a normal sized head, and they just bungled it.

Everyone draws stuff differently, Gray. I mean, I tend to go freehand sketching, but that doesn't make me Yoshitako Amano.
Besides, you won't have to look at it much longer. Season 4 (currently airing) is the last season, and it's almost over.
-
it's not officially cancelled yet, but it'll be official soon.
teklinks.org got shut down. it was like the biggest cl fansite, now i have virtually no way of finding episode downloads. :(
