any cl fans out there?
« on: October 26, 2007, 09:07:01 pm »
well as a habit i always have to ask if anyone watches code lyoko. it's nerdy that i ask, but I'm always curious to see if anyone likes it at all.

I actually am a fan of this show.  For some reason it's kinda cool.  It's gotten more...actiony since this season, but I can barely see it since I get home before the shows on >_>;;

Edit: And please, don't comment on how big their forheads are.  That's just getting old -_-

Glance carefully at the title beneath the avatar.  What do you think my answer is?

I've occasionally glanced it's way, and it's typical of the American dubbing process: poorly thought out. It's set in France yet there are times when everyone acts as if they live in the United States. Dippies, all of them.

well that's true about season 1 and 2. but season four is somewhat better, although they still occasionally reuse scenes.

Yeah, but re-use of scenes is pretty common in shows with CG in 'em.

I was speaking more of the quality of the dubbing as a whole. They tend to shift terms, sometimes even within an episode, occasionally referring to a supercomputer as a supercalculator. I can understand why that might happen--bad or literal translations--but it should be caught in script writing.

Then there's the fact that many things said are...well...stupid. The show is hardly deep, obviously, but still...it's almost too simple with some of the dialog.

That said, in it's own way it's still better than many things I've seen that were created in the United States, and I am mildly fond of Aelita.

I always thought Ailita (sp? she's the fully digital character at least for the first season) was cute.

The spelling is Aelita, B.  And yeah, she seems to be the one most fans drool over.

i like Aelita as well. she is the character that can be simple and complex, she's a bit more interesting than the others. i do think the pink is overdone.
pink hair
pink shirt
pink pants
pink boots
pink energy blast
pink face paint.
the only none pink thing  about her is her eyes.
but still a great character.

Okay, Grey, seriously:  cut it out.   Or I swear I'll reach through the internet itself and beat you with my walking stick.
