Accompanied by this poem:

The robot’s loneliness cannot be quieted by a program.

Electronic emotions faded in the wasteland of a young man’s desolate future.

What makes a dream mechanical?

I begin, but I begin in hope. Home, a memory from a possible past, grass fields and “I think want to be breathless next to you” as my companions. I name myself something brave and shine like a lightpost in the darkness at the end of the world. Funny, I always thought that the end of the world would be a bright rainbow, a violent reaction, spasms of energy draining life from the universe and making something more endlessly powerful from the resulting destruction.

Why is it that my eyes are dry? I cannot cry at dying humanity, but the programmed replication of companionship exploding sends electricity pulsing across my organic circuits.

Where is my animal? Where is my darkness? Where is my crossbow, my gun and my hammer? Where is my honor, my ghost, or the shadow in my pocket? Where is my fire, my Prometheus Eagle? Where is my

drowned out of existence, lost in the fight. remembered in ashes, the aftermath of loss.

The robot, an ocean of emptiness and nothing between the two.

Epoch Wallpaper

I made it using Blender (free & open source!), Illustrator, and Photoshop. Here's how I compiled this - First I traced over Crono in Illustrator:

Why Illustrator instead of modeling a real Crono in 3D? Well, I didn't feel like it. =P Modeling anything organic in 3D takes FOREVER. Plus I thought vector-Crono would make this art project look more authentic. So with Crono finished in Illustrator, I went on to Blender to model the full scene.

Upon completion, I split it up into 5 different layers, as so.

I did this because the lighting in Squaresoft's art is unnatural and impossible to reproduce within Blender with my current level of skill (or maybe it's not possible?). Anyhow, having everything in layers makes recreating the light an easy task in Photoshop. So with the layers in hand, I produced this in Photoshop.

So through 17 layers I achieved my Epoch Launch desktop wallpaper! Smile I hope you like it!

OK, so around 2002, I was into Chrono Cross like crazy. In art class, I'd always make something related to the game; a color wheel with the characters' faces, the game's logo in word art... So when it came time to make paper mache masks, I decided I'd make one of Harle, who was then (and still is) my favorite character.

After it gets graded, I bring it home and show my mom and dad. They put it on top of the shelf we keep miscellaneous crap in, and it's forgotten. Skip ahead eight years, and my mom cleans off that shelf in God knows how long. She asks me if I still want it, and I say yes, I hang it on my wall with yarn. Then I remember the Compendium. I decide I want to submit it for giggles. I invite my friend over (that's her hand in the first picture) to take pictures of the mask. She takes them...but doesn't email me 'til about two weeks later. I just got them yesterday... Anyhow, keep in mind I was doing it from memory, and this is the work of a nine-year-old me with access to only the most limited materials.

Also, part of the project was to lacquer colored construction paper scraps on top, so that explains why it's not as good as it could've been, even by nine-year-old standards.
