Melchior's Hut is home to the Guru of Life from Zeal, Melchior, who found his way to the modern era via the Ocean Palace Incident. The house was established soon after the incident occurred, and Melchior built a basement forge for weaponry, a trade he would use to make a living in the new era. The house would often be vacated while he peddled his wares on the road. The hut's most helpful use to the salvation of the world was its role in repairing the Masamune. After the fabled weapon was brought to the Guru, the basement laboratory was utilized by Lucca and the sage to process Dreamstone and bind the pieces of the sword back together. Melchior then remained at his house, encouraging the party on their quest and running a small shop. The Masamune scene is one of the most memorable in the game, as it is the first time Corridors of Time is played in Chrono Trigger.
