Fangamer Merchandise

General Information[edit]

Chrono Trigger[edit]

Fangamer.net has created a lot of Chrono Trigger merchandise. The original descriptions are reprinted here.

2300: Ruined World[edit]

A towering pillar of dust trails a speck on the horizon, deftly weaving through crooked skyscrapers and slabs of asphalt. Its path arcs in your direction, silence replaced by a hum and eventually a roar. As the machine blasts by, you are struck by two realizations. First, the motorcycle is driverless. Second, the driver is motorcycleless. Temporarily amused, you turn back towards your journey; the alarm in the factory has been blaring for days, and you were the only one healthy enough to investigate…

Our second belt print, designed by Charlie Verdin and Jon Kay! This edge-to-edge design is printed on comfortable American Apparel 2001 shirts. The “discharge” printing process dyes the ink right into the shirt, leaving a softer, smoother print than standard screenprinting. Each shirt comes with a corresponding pin.

(Note: the ink on the restocked Cranberry shirts is very subtle!)

Avarus Figurine[edit]

Echoing through the black corridors of the ocean palace, the pulse of the Avarus machine is steady and solemn. The burnished abomination beats like a heart, extracting and expelling violent bursts of energy. Every metallic organ has a function and a failsafe, ensuring the maintenance of its relentless beat in the face of any attack.

Camille Young finally unveils Avarus, an intricate re-envisioning of CT's doomsday device. Camille's figurines generally sell out in a matter of hours, so for the first time ever we're accepting preorders! For a limited time, every customer who orders is guaranteed to get a figurine.

Avarus is being cast in resin by the fine artists at Mana Studios and individually assembled, finished, painted, and packaged by Camille.

  • Hand-painted
  • 4.5" tall
  • Individually numbered
  • Removable sword
  • Custom packaging (to be determined)
  • More pictures available on Camille’s Flickr page

Artist's Statement

I sculpted Avarus in about a month and a half using Sculpey III. The artists at Mana Studios mold and cast each one in resin and they are then hand painted by me. I decided to incorporate the word 'mammon' into the symbolic icons which cover its surface. Mammon means material wealth and gain regarded as an evil influence.

The tick on the front symbolizes the machine's purpose, while the Anubis heads on the shoulders foreshadow destruction brought about by greed. Lavos' three forms are represented on the back and Queen Zeal's greedy eyes look out from under her crown. The meaning of the electrical diagram is left as an exercise for the engineers out there. Moth wings represent how ephemeral material wealth and gain are: "Gather up all ye fuckwheat, sinners, and turn to mine butt—" Jebediah 6:51

Cataclysm Combo Pack - Men's[edit]

At long last, high fashion for the discerning time traveler! With this combo pack you’ll save a couple bucks while getting the complete package:

  • Dark Omen Hoodie
  • 2300 Shirt
  • Era Sticker Pack
  • Spawn Keychain

NOTE: This is the page for the men’s shirts and jackets. Click here for the Women’s combo packs.

Our combo of cataclysmic collectibles begins with a celebration of the earth’s ultimate nemesis! The Dark Omen Jacket is sweet enough to earn you nods of approval from local biker gangs but geeky enough to impress the biggest nerds. The unusual construction and distressed seams of this garment resemble a roughed-up motorcycle jacket, but the cotton fleece means that it’s as comfortable and soft as a hoodie.

  • Vintage-washed 100% cotton fleece
  • Medium-weight fabric (8.5oz)
  • Full-zip front
  • Zippered front pockets (useful when backflipping away from explosions)
  • Button snap collar

This also happens to be our first piece of merchandise to artfully display our three favorite customizations: discharge printing, cloth embroidery, and die-cut minting!

  • Two embroidery locations
    • “Dark Omen” logo sewn on the chest
    • Spawn emblem sewn on the shoulder
  • Heavy-duty, custom-minted zipper pull (featuring the spawn emblem from the shoulder)
  • Discharge-printed “Death Peak” crest on the back (discharge printing ‘burns’ into the garment, a subtle printing process which leaves no caked-on ink)
  • Custom-minted “Spawn Chain” with heavy-duty attachment

Please note that the jackets run a little small, and (like any cotton garment) they’re prone to shrink after washing. If you’re worried about getting the right size, check out the moto jacket sizing chart. Also note that the factory only makes sizes S-XL, no 2X or 3X (sorry!)

Also included in the Cataclysm Combo Pack is the 2300: Ruined World Shirt, a dazzling glimpse into the desolate future, designed by Charlie Verdin and Jon Kay. This edge-to-edge design is “discharge” printed onto American Apparel shirts, a process which dyes the ink right into the fabric for a print both softer and smoother than standard screenprinting. Each shirt comes with a corresponding pin, capable of being fastened to items from any era.

Closing out the combo is the ultimate in future-tech, the Era Sticker Pack, a pack of four discrete nostalgia-powered wireless nerdolocation devices. Their broadcast range is from 1-15 feet, depending on lighting and placement. For optimal performance, place stickers on mobile surfaces with high visibility. Please see Graph 1A for effective signal to noise ratios.

Graph 1A: Transmission Power by Substrate

  • 0.1 (poor): human hair, dusty particleboard, airflow ducts
  • 0.5 (average): lockers, instrument cases, game consoles, instruments

Chronometer[edit]

In celebration of the re-release of a classic we bring you the re-release of our classic Chronometer shirt! This New Game + version of the shirt features a new color (Antiquity!), several improvements to the print, a new printed tag design, and a 50/50 version!

Inspired by CT’s ephemeral clock motif, this shirt screams “I love prehistoric time-traveling babes” to your fellow CT fans and “I love awesome clocks” to everyone else. Clever cover, you sly geek! The metallic ink is now 'discharged' into the fabric of the shirt for a thin, sharp print. In addition we've made some tweaks to the design and placement for maximum excellence.

The 'Antiquity' brown and 'Classical' black versions of these shirts are printed on Sun Apparel's fine jersey shirts, which are pretty much identical to American Apparel 2001 shirts. For a change of pace, however, the 'Modern' gray version is printed on American Apparel's BB 301/401 poly/cotton shirt, which we lovingly refer to as the 50/50! This is the first time we've printed on a non-heather 50/50 shirt, and we're confident that the overwhelming softness will make you

As always, each shirt comes with a beautiful 1.25" pin printed on metallic paper.

Dark Omen Hoodie[edit]

“Come with me if you want a sweet jacket.”

Dark Omen is back with a new and improved garment: ITC's Premium Raw-Edge Hoodie. This slick new jacket has the same quality as our Snow Wood and Star Man hoodies plus a little something extra: a Phone/iPod pouch in the front pocket, with an eyelet you can run your headphones through.

Celebrating the fiery 1999 debut of the earth’s matroshka-nemesis, the ragged, exposed seams of the Dark Omen jacket are sweet enough to earn you nods of approval from local biker gangs while the subject matter is geeky enough to impress the biggest nerds. How many other pieces of gaming apparel can make such untestable claims? (The answer is “none”, spoken firmly as you zip up your jacket and badass your way outta town.)

  • 100% cotton fleece
  • Medium-weight fabric (8.5oz)
  • Full-zip front
  • Slim, fitted construction
  • Phone/iPod pouch inside the front pocket with eyelet to run headphone cords through your jacket
  • Custom-minted Spawn Chain with heavy-duty attachment (optional)

This also happens to be our first piece of merchandise to artfully display all four of our favorite garment customizations: screenprinting, cloth embroidery, custom-woven tags, and die-cut minting!

  • Screenprinted “Death Peak” crest on the back
  • Two embroidery locations:
    • “Dark Omen” logo sewn on the chest
    • Spawn emblem sewn on the shoulder
  • Woven 'Chronometer' tag sewn to the bottom hem
  • Thick, custom-minted zipper pull (featuring the spawn emblem from the shoulder)

Note: These jackets are fitted and, therefore, run a little small. On top of this -- like any 100% cotton garment -- they’re prone to shrink after washing. If you’re worried about getting the right size, check out the men's sizing chart and the women's sizing chart.

Gate Key[edit]

Time travel requires a nuanced understanding of concepts like time dilation. If you're not up to date on the latest in flux capacitance, however, there's an easier way: the Gate Keychain, guaranteed to shred the delicate fabric of spacetime like an angry Naga-ette!

Our most complicated design to date, this keychain was custom minted by the good folks at the Northwest Mint. Jon Kay has imbued every centimeter (thats right, metric!) of this static timepiece with symbolic icons inspired by CT.

  • Custom-minted by the Northwest Mint
  • 30+ grams of virtually unbendable nickel
  • Heavy-duty chain
  • Antique bronze finish
Fiendlord Pin Set[edit]

Things are looking up for the mystics! They whomped the local superhero, turned his buddy into a frog (lol), and got the Hero's Badge into the hands of some kid. Best of all, the PR department has really been knocking it out of the park recently. The populace is too busy gabbing about the henchmen's rock-n-roll makeover to worry about the costly war with Guardia!

Like all of our pins, each set comes with specially-designed packaging guaranteed to give hardcore collectors fits of indecision — open them or leave them sealed?

  • Glenn
  • Heroic (metallic paper)
  • Dark Matter (glow in the dark)
  • Henchmen (wildcard - one of three appears randomly in each set)
    • Sabbath
    • Rose
    • Chili
Magi's Tower[edit]

Howling from the black winds of Omnitarian’s mind comes the Magi’s Tower design!

The gargoyle perched atop the sorcerer's castle throws shadows in every direction, hiding hordes of foes and fiends. Any generic hero knows they'll need the legendary Masamune before venturing in, but the smart ones will ditch their shiny, noisy Gold Suits and equip one of these shirts instead.

Produced in part by our friends at Forward Printing in California, these super-slick shirts are printed with a special discharge process which "burns" the ink into the shirts for a sharp, soft, thin print. In addition to that, we've opted for a belt print on a specialty machine which enables huge prints, allowing Omni's tower design to crawl all the way up the side.

The Black shirt is printed on fitted, 100% cotton Sun Apparel shirts (identical to American Apparel's 2001 line). The Blaqua shirt is the American Apparel BB401, which is 50% cotton / 50% polyester. The Blaqua shirts are a slightly tighter, taller, and much lighter version of the Black shirts, and frankly, are some of the most comfortable shirts you will ever wear in your life. Also, the Blaqua only comes in unisex -- no womens sizes in that color, sorry ladies!

Also, each shirt comes with a corresponding 1.25" pin, in case you thought it couldn't possibly get any better.

Millennial Fair Pins[edit]

Paying homage to every gamer’s early encounters with time triggering adventures. Celebrate 1000 years of the denizens in the kingdom that give’s birth to gaurdians throughout time.

  • Guardian Seal
  • Time Gate
  • Meow~
  • Silver Point
  • Impish (wildcard pin, comes in three flavors)

Like all of our new pins, each set comes with specially-designed packaging, guaranteed to give hardcore collectors fits of indecision1 about whether they should open their pins or leave them sealed!

1. And possibly high blood pressure.

Time Wing Schematics Poster[edit]

Inspired by the time-traveling machinations of CT's renaissance man, this 4-color, 18″ × 24″ screenprinted poster isn't some cheap Nintendo Power fold-out to be passive aggressively taped over your sibling's Sonic poster in a display of territorial dominance. No, this is the kind of poster which calls for not one, but two glass frames: one to replace the old frame next to your yellowed SNES, and one to take back to the summer of 1996 and hang next to your sleek gray Super Nintendo.

Depleted Dreamstone fuel is not included, but the directions for returning to those halcyon days come in style; each poster was screenprinted by the legends at Monolith Printing in California on fancy Quest Ivory Neenah Paper. Every poster is shipped in a sturdy tube — the next best thing to wormhole delivery. And in the event that you've had issues with wormholes in the past, each poster is rolled in protective kraft paper and stamped on the back so you know its not some knockoff from Bizarro-Fangamer.

This poster was designed by a slew of Fangamer fiends: design and layout by Jon Kay, calligraphy by Sabrina Kay, illustration by Camille Young, and copy by Reid Young.
