The permissible range for the model byte (0x2D) in each record here is 0x00 (Serge) - 0x33 (Scythe Lynx), and affects all aspects of character display, including overworld, status screen, and battle models, and the menu strip portrait (but not the dialogue portrait, which is set per-entity or per-message in fieldscript). Invalid values will cause a crash.
As a side note, changing Serge's innate color to black causes his name to change to Lynx.
