When you're flyin the Epoch how do you land?

As close to the entrance as possible
An appropriate spot (off of the grass!)
Tucked away Delorean style
Just land on things (town fountain!)

Parking the Epoch
« on: April 13, 2012, 10:21:31 pm »
This morning while spending about 15 minutes with DS in hand just touring the Chronoverse in the Epoch I thought of this question.  Have you noticed how you land the Epoch?  Just curious!

As close to the entrance as possible.  I am lazy even when playing video games.

I don't care.
Just park it somewhere relatively near.

My option isn't on the list... I land close to buildings, but not so close that the Epoch is kissing it.  I don't like accidentally getting back into Epoch when I mean to go into a building or vice versa.

Heh, so I recall an infamous bug of Fallout 2, once your car happens to run out of gasoline inside a circle of a town, then you can no longer access the car.

Fallout and Fallout 2...  Great games.  I still fire up Fallout from time to time.  I love creating overly specialized characters to make the game more challenging.  Like max intelligence, charisma, perception, luck with minimal strength and endurance.  Ever talk the Master into killing himself without firing a shot?  A ninja is another favorite.  Combat knife and throwing knives.

Anyway, I have always parked off of the grass when able and otherwise just tuck the thing away outside of town.  Sometimes I leave it docked at the End of Time and travel through time the old fashioned way, as long as I don't need to go to a remote island.  And if I head to the Prehistoric time I take Dactyl even when the Epoch is available.  Pre-DS there wasn't much of a need to be there though, except the armor if I remember correctly.  It's kinda too bad that the game wasn't expanded there.  And to an explorable 1999.  Maybe earlier in the game you could arrive there the morning of the Lavos attack and explore future Guardia before the timeline gets smashed to bits.  Even just a building would be cool.

As close to the entrance as possible most of the time, but if there's a interesting object (town fountain), that one.

I always just landed in the middle of town if I could, but if I couldn't (Guardia, the domes, whatever) I landed a reasonable distance away.

If it was my friend Gwen though...he'd just park on top of people's houses or right at the mouth of the cave or whatever. That guy can't part airships worth beans.

Perhaps there are quite few (hidden) places in CT that require Epoch to access. And you can't encounter any events on the world map.
Though in Final Fantasy series they tend to land the airship on some strange terrains, hoping there will be unusual encounters, heh.

I tend to land on any object that I can most of the time... Just because I can.

Failing any interesting structures to defile, I park as close to an entrance as is allowable.
