Japanese Ages, Heights, Etc. for Trigger
« on: January 16, 2012, 11:53:53 pm »
Hey, I was bored and decided to read the Japanese Wikipedia page for Chrono Trigger run through my browser's translator, and they list the ages, heights, weights, etc. for Crono and a few other characters in Trigger. I don't know where the information came from specifically, though, but should we consider adding this to the Encyclopedia?

Those details are supposedly from V-Jump, at least according to 2ch Chrono Trigger Threads. It seems strange though that these ages don't seem to have been stated elsewhere, not even in the Chrono Trigger Ultimania. I'm hesitant about including the information until we know just what V-Jump issue/resource it's from.

If this is true, then that means that Lucca is 19 compared to Crono and Marle's 17 and 16. Pretty cool. Meanwhile, Glenn is 40 years old! Which, of course, means...

...

On one hand I think it's really cool to have a hardened soldier character in a JRPG not be a teenager

on the other they also list Magus's height as like 5'9"

JRPG characters you SHORT

The metric system changed as Gardia fell.

178cm 58kg

Well I see he's still a bit taller than me, but obviously too light (considering I'm around 75kg).

Magus' height is no less than 6" in my opinion.

Yeah, but us Westerners are also quite taller (on average) than our Asian counterparts. :P

The hovering adds a few inches to their height.

I decided to look to look at the CT OAV Manga “Next Gate” pages since Angerona uploaded some more pages recently. It looks like they're the original source of the character ages/heights/weights. One source of them, at least.

So far, I've found these characters' info:
  • Frog: Next Gate 15
  • Ayla: Next Gate 16
  • Magus: Next Gate 18
The remaining ones are probably in the magazines yet-to-be-scanned.

It's been good to see around again, Vehek.

What do they mean by "Next Gate ..."?

Magus was 5'9"?! That means Red could cosplay as him and be the right height! Too bad he's an adorable, freckle-faced kid with a kitty-cat nose...he wouldn't look the part even a little.
