Grobyc's StrongArm

Consider

Quote from: Chronopolis
Grobyc:
   This-cannot-be...
   This-is-the-ancient-super
   weapon-that-was-in
   development-in-Porre.
   But-what-is-it-doing-here?
   It-looks-complete.

Norris:
   This is...!
   StrongArm!

Norris:
   I thought I destroyed
   it when I caused the
   explosion in the lab...
   In any case, the only
   one who can operate
   this is Grobyc.

Norris:
   I must bring
   Grobyc here.

Luccia:
   I cannot believe dis...!
It is an ancient super veapon.
   I do recall my brotter
   talking about dis.
...About a super veapon that vas
   excavated near an ancient ruin.
According to him, dere vere not
   enough parts to complete it,
   but dis shows othervise.
   Dis vould have been
   Grobyc's exclusive veapon.
   I must bring Grobyc here.

Luccia:
   Only Grobyc knows
   how to use it.

 [System]
   There's a mysterious being inside.

Member:
   We have to bring
   someone here that
   knows what this is.

 [System]
   Received Grobyc's
   StrongArm!

Since the StrongArm is ancient technology, cited as a "being" of some kind, and judged to not have enough parts to be in working order in 1020 A.D., I theorize that the StrongArm was originally a project of Zeal that survived the fall, and was taken with Belthasar to Chronopolis.

Interesting...What lab do you suppose Norris is talking about? And where was Grobyc?

Porre laboratory on the mainland. There are two explosions, though they're probably one. In one, Norris tried to blow up the StrongArm. In the second, a freak accident nearly blew up Grobyc, but Luccia's brother sacrificed himself to save him. They're probably one and the same.

So then, why did Norris blow up a Porrean lab? And I always thought that it was implied that Grobyc himself was Luccia's brother...nutz...That kind of fudges Magness a bit...

Well it's probably.
 1. Chronopolis was made by Porre, so maybe they remade the arm
 2. The arm was from Chronopolis. The reason why it apears so "old" could be that someone in ChronoPolis misplaced it in.. let's say 6600 B.C.
.Then it was found by Porre. Then they could not repair it. While in Chronopolis the party discovers another arm. So in conclusion perhaps the Strong Arm was from Chronopolis and it came from the future.. making it too advanced for the Porriens. The arm that the Party saw was just a duplicate.

Indeed. Where Zeal floated is too far away from El Nido. It was most likely from Chronopolis

You got to be kidding. We don't know where Zeal floated and we don't know where El Nido is located at all...

We do know where Zeal was floating...................

And El Nido is said to be South East of Zenan, but it'd not quite accurate anyway.

The point is that if Grobyc's arm was from the future, then it could very well be something like an ancient civilization. Because remember, Chronopolis was built, time crash to around 10,000BC or 7600BC whatever. To get to 1020AD, the Arm would be like over 8000 years old, which would be ancient, and anything from a future period would be thought to be like some super thingy cuz it doesn't even exist yet.

.......... No one said it was. We're just saying that maybe the arm was lost from Chronopolis. think about it.. The time Crash caused it to go back to 7600 B.C. Now if someone misplaced the arm.. I'd think those years of erosion, rust ect would take it's tole on the arm and make it look ancient.

Refresh my memory, was there anything ingame that referred to the Strong Arm being ancient or having the appearance of an ancient artifact?

Don't think so

Duh, its in the script. It was being developed by Porre prior to the time crash. Time Crash happens, the arm goes with Chronopolis and gets misplaced etc. Grobyc comes from Porre or wherever, so he could have seen it's first stages of developement. He finds the complete arm because it was completed in the future >.>

Well, Chronopolis would look like a ruin, or anywhere else. It's not safe to assume that it came from Zeal, unless it was elemental since they were the only proven weapons ever forged in Zeal, besides the red knife.

The arm itself could have come from the dragoninians or something. Fort Dragonia in particular.
