Race ideas: reptite, human (normal), human (enlightened), mystic (variety maybe?), robot, nu, mutant
Class/job ideas: paladin, cleric, knight, wizard/mage, archer/gunman/hunter, necromancer, warlock, barbarian

Here's where I got the ideas:

paladin -- paladins are holy knights with the ability to cleanse... I'd figure at least some were in Guardia
cleric -- typical class for nuns and stuff
knight -- 600 ad? 1000 ad? come on...
wizard/mage -- good for Mystics
archer -- like Marle
gunman -- like Lucca
hunter -- humans most likely hunted...
necromancer -- Mystics practiced it
warlock -- Mystics probably controlled demons too
barbarian -- example Ayla

Well, the problem with that is that none of the nuns seemed to heal you, ever, Barbarians can be both Class AND Race, depending on how you look at it, as at one point of time in history, they were a race of people, a tribe, and only became a kind of 'class' when the life style of the tribe/race became appealing to other people.

I guess my problem with it is that it doesn't hold true to Chrono Trigger or Spekkio, who creates the classes in the games. They didn't have classes there based on what weapon they held, like in other games. The weapons they held were because that's what they were accustomed to using, not because they had been trained in them.

I mean, it was just a suggestion on my part. I'm not even working on the project, so whatever you guys decide is up to you. If it sounds good to you, do it. I'm probably just a small minority, anyway. You do lose the uniqueness of the MMO if you go with what you propose, though, and it seems to me like being lazy about designing brand new classes based on what CT actually provides.

My space opera fanfic of Chrono seems to have the story, resources and conflict for an MMO... I'm just not up for making something that complex.

Another question: Are you making it solely in Game Maker, or is this just for a proof-of-concept thing? From what I've seen, Game Maker is more limited than the alternatives when it comes to online play.

You should sorta set it out like wow in my oppinion .

Each time zone would have two ...or more sets of races with the same or different jobs .

Cavepeople/Reptites
Enlightened/Earthbound
600ad People / Mystics
1000ad People / Mystics (Would have different backstory and classes perhaps to earlier Mystics)
Post Apocalypse People / Robots

Im totally stumped on the classes though ....obviously technologys from those periods would influence them

I doubt there was any bloodshed between Enlightened and Earthbound though, same with 1000 AD humans and mystics.

I didn't know that I was anything but calm. I was just giving suggestions. It's up to you guys whether you use them or not, and I know that. I gave my argument and that's that.

The moon idea is awesome. Suddenly it's 1991 and I'm brought back to Final Fantasy 4.
