Greetings from Where the West Begins!
« on: July 01, 2010, 07:39:45 pm »
I ask that y'all excuse me, as I kind of stink at introducing myself...  :P

Hey everyone. I'm Chrono_Texan, 17 years old going on 18... and as you may have guessed, I'm from Texas--Fort Worth to be exact. For those who have never heard of it, think of Fort Worth as Dallas's sprawled-out and more Western little brother. I'm a college student at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), so in the late summers I move my crud to Richardson (northern suburb of Dallas) to live there and attend for the school year. I suppose they couldn't have called themselves "UT Richardson" because nearly no one outside of the D/FW Metroplex knows where the heck that is!

I've played video games since I was in Pull-Ups, starting on the Super Nintendo, then to the PSX, then the PS2. I kinda stopped buying consoles at that point and mostly play games on the PC now. As for Chrono Trigger, I heard some of the soundtracks on a video game music Internet radio station about a year ago, and decided to check out the game itself via Wikipedia. The premise looked awesome to me (I'm a sucker for time-travel related stuff), so I picked it up and played it. It knocked my socks off like Popeyes fried chicken. Played it through, loved it, and a couple of New Game Pluses also. A few months after, I had some extra funds set aside for whatever, so I ordered Chrono Cross off Amazon and played it through, also. Needless to say, I loved CC too. The games have epic plots, great music, and are just a great experience overall. I decided to try and find some fan sites via Google, and quickly found Chrono Compendium here. I've been lurking for a good while, mainly reading the articles and such (very fascinating and thought-provoking) and reading some around the forum too. I'm rambling like a talk radio host now (probably comes from being a former one) so I'll cut this off. I'm glad to be here with other fans and look forward to great discussions. :D

Welcome Mr. Texan!  Glad to have you on board.  :D  I think I've been to Fort Worth, but I was pretty young.  I have a lot of friends who live in the Fort Worth / Dallas / Keller area.  A lot of Compendiumites are from Texas, actually.

You were a talk radio host?  That's pretty awesome.  My boyfriend was a DJ in college, and I thought that was nearly the coolest thing ever (the coolest thing ever is, of course, the Chrono series XD ).

There are quite a few Texans here in the Compendium, myself being one of them!

Welcome, enjoy your stay.

Coolness.  :D  Texas to Washington is quite a move.  Although I shouldn't talk... my parents were in Asia when I moved to the US for college.
