Gurren Lagaan: Manga or Anime?
« on: November 01, 2009, 11:25:00 am »
Of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan, which is better, the Manga, or the Anime? I'm asking those of you who have read/watched one or the other (or both) to fight it out here! Or maybe they're both equally good, who knows.

I was planning on watching/reading it, so I thought I'd ask you guys.

id say the anime is the best, but you should just enjoy the series.

Anime first.

The manga's based on it and expands on a few things, but you won't enjoy it nearly as much without the epic voices and music.

All right. The one that comes first is usually better, so I'll watch the anime. Thanks a lot!

I love the Gurren Lagaan Anime.

Such zest!

Such action!

Such thrill!

Not to mention a damn well good storyline. And the humor.

The manga was terrible, I found. It lacked the presentation and emotion the anime delivered.

There's a reason Gainax, as an animation company, produces their own ideas.

@ Battler = Hence why it's a good idea to watch the anime first, so that the manga won't suck as much when you read it...LOL. But yeah, the manga's kind of lackluster in comparison.

The TTGL anime might as well be the "bible" to the springtime of youth. It's the most positive thing I've ever seen in my life.
