Unfortunately, the Live Journal account that goes through the game doesn't seem to have an appropriate tag to navigate through the articles swiftly. The (apparently) final article concludes by giving credit to the Compendium, and the retranslation in particular.

Related, but probably not worth it's own thread:

Wow, fantastic find! I love reading this kind of stuff.

Did Crono's resurrection really cheapen things? I'm not sure. I wouldn't say Gandalf's resurrection sabotaged Lord of the Rings in any way, and in the context of Chrono Trigger, it appeals to the theme that literally anything is possible with enough elbow grease and dreaming.

The LiveJournal articles take a different view on the possibility of resurrecting Crono, indicating that within the context of Chrono Trigger's time travel story, this choice reinforces the themes of the game.

I've decided to index the 6 parts of the Chrono Trigger here for those who are interested. These articles are linked at the bottom of the article FaustWolf linked, but appear to be by a different author. Links are in order.

We need to make sure things like these are archived just in case

I could have sworn we had this archived at one point or another. I'll save copies.

Hah, already archived in 2008.

I knew about the Existentialist Reading article before, but I just skimmed it in greater detail... it's really interesting. I'll have to read more of it sometime. I'd be curious to know what the author might say about Chrono Cross, since that game really goes down the rabbit hole as far as existentialist themes are concerned. I wonder if he's played it?
