Greetings and Salu- Zzz...
« on: August 30, 2009, 01:24:07 am »
Well here I go again, making yet another intro thread (really, I should stop joining forums on the spur of the moment, but wth?). I am Rick Forrest, better know by a myriad of aliases elsewhere from yon places unheard of by ye olde CCers. In other words, I'm a newb here, but forum posting is old hat for me. I promise to do for the Compendium as I have done for other forums - post meaninglessful and uninteresting material, get into stay out of trouble, and spread chaos and mayhem be a kind and thoughtful member. Just kidding, I think I only destroyed... er, well, never mind that. Bottom line is, I have a wicked sense of humour, prefer British spelling most of the time, am a grammar Nazi and quite intelligent.

Honestly, I joined because the time / physics / technology topics picqued my interest, not to mention the fact that I absolutely LOVED Chrono Trigger. Anywho, here I am and here I shall stay as long as I avoid being bampersand and can access the innerwubs. Get ready for some heavy discussions...

Welcome to the Compendium, fellow traveler!

I am Temporal Knight, or TK as the others here tend to shorten my name to. A pleasure to meet you.

Ahahaha, Kebrel. Actually, the name is derived from Admiral Forrest (I happen to be an avid Star Trek fan) and my surname of choice, Rick. TK, thank you for the warm and fuzzy welcomes. I hope to meet my match here in temporal mechanics theorising.

Aha, a pirate AND a TTM fan! GenesisOne, I believe you and I shall get along quite famously. It is indeed rare to find a GN / pirate / scifi fanatic. Many thanks for the hale and hearty welcomes, all.

If I use maggie's alternate version again I'm going to feel like a thief...  So tempting, though.

Welcome, Rick.  Hope you enjoy your time here.  :)

By GN, Mr. Forrest, do you perhaps mean "Graphic Novel"?

Sorry. That one kind of flew over my head.

Update:  Ah...Grammar Nazi.  I get it now.

Yes, GN = Grammar Nazi. Over the years I've gained the ability to tone down my own GN-ness to a degree, but when all is said and done, I am a diehard grammar and mechanics fanatic. Oddly enough, when drunk I refuse to use contractions, and otherwise become an anal perfectionist when writing, typing or talking. I'm sober, though. ... for now. ;)

I'm just glad I was able to get online again. I was so very much looking forward to posting here and discussing all manners of things. Unfortunately, my 'net access will be spotty at best until next month, when I can get a netbook. After that, I should be online very nearly 24/7.
