I managed to activate the Celebi event today. I'll try the Arceus event too.

And I think that it may just be my emulator. I checked to see if you could still save, and you could. So a solution is to save and reset your game. I would still suggest goin through Saffron City with a smaller pokemon. Oh, I've also gotten this glitch after exiting Silph Co.

And, Surf is much better for a Pikachu.

EDIT: Done the Arceus event now. And another dilemma. Shouldn't the Giratina I recieved know Shadow Sneak?

How did you activated the event? Cheating the activation of it with a regular Arceus, or cheating in the Arceus needed? Maybe the Arceus you had had something to do with it.

I made sure that it was from an event, and I used Pokesav to create it. The event activated fine and I did everything properly. But I don't really care that much, cos Shadow Sneak would suck on Giratina imo.

Well, I'm not sure, but could have been a punishment for cheating, sort of like the Bad Egg.

You don't happen to have one now, do you?

A Bad Egg? No. But, like I said, I would've gotten rid of the move anyway. The only move of its kind that I like is Bullet Punch, and even then only on Scizor.

According to Serebii, Giratina learns Shadow Sneak at lv19 in HG/SS.

FaFniR: The PokéNerd in me thinks it would have been better to keep Surf for the Pikachu, I think. It's a great way of dealing with Ground types that it would ordinarily be at a disadvantage against. Fly is a hard move to use properly, because it takes two turns to execute. It usually has to be paired with a move or ability, like Mean Look or (Toxic) Spikes, that will prevent or discourage switching out to a Pokémon that's resistant to Flying-type attacks on the next turn.

Whatever floats your boat though. If you're having fun with it, that's the most important thing. Besides, most of the NPCs in Pokémon games aren't usually that crafty.

Yeah, I just have Fly for fun (and there are already billions of water types/Red Gyarados to use for HMs). I still have the Surfing Pikachu backed up on another save, so it's all good. It's also a relief Fly receives the Light Ball bonus; since gen 4 Light Ball now raises Attack/Sp.Atk instead of just Sp.Atk for Pikachu.

If you have the Pokesav, you can hack the game senseless anyway.

Hmm...

Me, personally, am glad I'm past Pokémon.  I look back on it now, and I see it completely different:

A society where adults send their 12-year-olds out into the world in some inane social ritual to capture wild game and pit them against others who pursue that same activity for money and glory.

Also, their economy is so messed up, they make income solely through shops, cargo shipping, and selling stadium tickets.

Also, you'd think those two teens from Team Rocket would've learned their lesson after the first few times and simply capture a Pikachu that didn't belong to the whiny protagonist.  I mean, there's literally thousands of those things around the world.  Their boss wouldn't know the difference, but one would think that after all those failures, he would've fired them long ago and used that money to hire more competent and calculating kidnappers.

Well, enough of the passionate rant.  It's nowhere near a flame, if that's what you're thinking.  After 151, I just decided that enough was enough.

No cards, no collectibles, nothing...  I'm done.

Don't worry, I know many people like that. I'd know a flame if I saw it.

I may create the (almost) perfect team via Pokesav. Whilst making them look legit. That be smart hacking right there. :D

Giovanni never wanted Pikachu in the first place, did he? It was Jesse, James, and Meowth who decided Pikachu was worth going after.

Yeah, he never specifically mentioned about capturing Pikachu, I think. And he did sort of tried to get rid of them by sending them to Hoenn, then Sinnoh, under the excuse of establishing a branch of the organization over there if I remember correctly.

Really?

I was under the impression that he wanted that little electric mouse since Season One.

Even if he did move on from it, he still made the mistake of not firing those two nincompoops.

Actually, there is an episode around Johto where he did, and it is why we then saw Butch and Cassidy appearing. But then they they got back in (don't remember), but were being sent a Delibird (or whoever it is spelled) in order to pay off the big debt they had now after the many failures, with the pokémon collecting what they had managed to get every time he came.

Well, I think I may have discovered the secret to properly creating a pokemon on Pokesav whilst making it legit.

PUT IT IN AN EGG AND HATCH IT!!!!!

That ensures that the IVs, nature, shininess etc. are legit. You can then safely edit EVs and level, and it will remain legit. As I said, smart hacking!!!

And yet it is still hacking and when your beat by a purely legit player. His victory will taste even sweeter.
