DO IT but do so on a different website or else it will be eaten. And maybe give a list of controls too.

Awesome, man! Keep up the good work, but be careful until you're done at least! I want to be able to play the new one! The old one was pretty fun, but this looks great. Seriously, be careful!

Rejoice, for the demo is being uploaded to the main page.

Check this page later today, and the demo should be available for download! And it's only 3.25 MB. I'm trying to keep the file size down.

Sorry for the double post, but I am seriously considering renaming this game. The more I make it, the better ideas I get, and it's starting to feel like a whole new game, with a plot that is related to Chrono Chronicles. The ending... The ending has been changed the most. It's now going to lead into Chrono Cross.

There's even a brand-spankin' new final level. Even a new final boss. o.O

So, are there any name suggestions?

Name's I'm considering:
Chrono Shift
Chrono Break (I know, I know, I'd get shut down in a heartbeat)
Chrono Trigger II
Chrono Alter
Chrono Visis

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Well, Lance, as someone who hasn't played the demo yet and was never able to completely finish the original, I'm not sure what kind of name would fit, and I think that goes for most other people here. Only you, knowing all of the changes and plot devices are really capable of making that decision.

I decided to go with "Chrono Alter" for the new title. The word "Alter" is Latin for "Another" of "Second One". I like the ring to it, and I've drafted up a logo.

I hope you guys like the sound of the new title. :)

the new title doesn't make much sense to me. trigger and cross are nouns. alter is a verb. at least, in the definition that you are using. i liked chrono shift. but whatever floats your boat. it's your game.

If we're going by that logic, "Chrono Rift" would make the most sense.

chrono rift flows off the tongue mighty nice, but a trigger is a noun and to trigger something is a verb. a cross is a noun and to cross is a verb. thus the titles have multiple meanings, whereas an altar is a noun but not an alter. however, to shift is a verb and a shift is a noun. they basically mean the same thing, but it's the same logic.

that's all i was getting at, and i mean no offense by any means. i admire your commitment to your project and the fact that it's already one of the very few full playable chrono based games anywhere. but chrono shift or chrono rift both sound really good.

Edit: i don't know why i put a D on the end of almost all the nouns. Except that this is a laptop hooked up to an HDTV with shitty S-Video and I can barely read what's on screen it's so small.

I know you meant no offense. ^_^

And I never thought of Rift until you said that, so I'm going to look into it and see if I can draft up a logo.

Is it too late to tell you not to release the demo?  That's got bad news written all over it.  Have we learned nothing from Square Enix and Crimson Echoes?  Keep the lid on this baby until it's release time!  Then just got full speed ahead without any warning - word will spread AFTER it's release!

I'm bumping this thread because I am actively working on this game again. Sad to say, but it will be delayed until late 2009/early2010 for the release. Sorry guys!

I'm eventually going to do a video update to let you know where I am in production.

Thanks for reading, guys! n.n

What's the project's current status, Lance?
