There is something about Chrono Cross....
« on: June 28, 2009, 12:10:09 am »
....it is so tropical. I mean, just looking at the places, I wonder where the islands and country is located on that planet? Also, I wonder what those falls are on the top left. You know the falls on the corner of the map preventing you from going north westward?

Perhaps it's between former Guardia and Porre,  somewhere in the east sea of Zenan continent?

1. Porre shall be located at Northeast of El Nido, conversely , El Nido should be located Southwest of Porre country. Even so, CC never stated the location/position of Porre and El Nido in world map. That is the only clue I can give you.
2. The fall at top corner shall be the only exit from El Nido to outside world if using ocean path. Me think.
Doc say that the sea currents of El Nido  at CC event current year are extremely dangerous. So there is no way to go out of El Nido without special transport.

For map reference, I will include one.

Great questions, Dialga. Thankfully the Compendium has at least kind of figured out where El Nido is:
One can speculate endlessly on its position in the seas of the Chrono world, but the true answer is that no one knows. Within the game, Guardia is referenced as a northern country, Porre as the major power of the east, and possibly Medina as the "Far East." While Medina being east and Guardia existing in the north are consistent with the layout of 1000 A.D. in Chrono Trigger, Porre's reference as being east places the El Nido islands in the sea probably between Choras and Porre. The true location is still impossible to ascertain due to the small size of El Nido compared to what is presented as the entire world in Chrono Trigger.

I always figured that the waterfall was south of Guardia, but I honestly have no idea...

Too bad "east" and "west" are so vague when you talk about direction on a planet that they almost don't matter at all when you don't know your present location.

I think we could form a kind of plausible map location by taking into account possible tropical areas, though even that would only be based on our own planet's tropics...

One can speculate endlessly on its position in the seas of the Chrono world, but the true answer is that no one knows.

And that's how it goes...

And it seems the world map doesn't have climate differences, no tropical, no frigid。。。

Who is to say they just were not shown. For god's sake look the globe, it's Chrono Cross's map. it's on the equator between the continents of the Zenan Continent.
