A lot of people seem to think that in this case they're the directors and they need to get people to play the characters, so they're casting them. I'm not too familiar with the movie world, but I think Johnny Depp as Magus would be supremely awesome.

Akira Toriyama, to draw and animate it. If I were in charge of the situation, the last thing I would consider is stabbing the entire fanbase through the heart by making a crappy live action movie. Some things were never meant to be live action. Like DB Evolution. They tried, and failed. I heard Akira Toriyama literally cried after he saw the movie. And not out of happiness.

In my personal opinion, Square Enix did this by shutting down Crimson Echoes, a beautiful piece of fan fiction / fan game.

I hear he said it was an...interesting alternate universe..(honestly who knows, I mean the internet is filled with rumors...I doubt he cried about it though.*)..which in movie land means: this is a piece of trash, please don't mention my name when you speak of it.

* I imagine it he'd be like one of those old comercals with the Native American and someone throws a bottle on the ground and a single tear streams down his face....yeah just like that ^^

Depp fucking WAS Thompson in Fear & Loathing. No one played the role better. Fear & Loathing follows the book almost word for word.
