It was one of the first RPGs I ever got into.  Back in the day I'd played the original Dragon Warrior some, and seen a bit of Breath of Fire played.  Then I got to the age where I was starting to come into my own with video game selection, instead of just playing what my parents picked out.  I had played a bit of Chrono Trigger at a friend's house, and went and picked up the title shortly afterwards.

I can't even remember when I got it though.  Birthday, Xmas, or just random present.  I can't remember.  All I know is that I played that game more than any other SNES title in my library (Except maybe Yoshi's Island and Breath of Fire 2)

The rest is history.

I was GOING to rent CT from some 3rd party video store that's LOOONG gone these days.  My brother said no and we got something else...I don't even remember what.

years later my friend would tell me about this game and I finally bought the PSX version...and was HOOKED!  CC I just started playing recently and haven't played in a bit, actually.

As for this site...i used to go to Gamefaqs for this game's forum, the FF6 one, and whatever game I was playin' at the time.  A strange outburst and war at the FF6 board essentially caused me to leave the site, even though I had nothin' to do with it.  ANYWAY, The proposal video made its way to GameFAQS and under some dude named Zeality's profile was a link to Prophet's Guile.  What happened next was the most magical 3 days of video game playing I've had in a decade.  I joined here immediately after finishing and to bask myself in the awe of sucha  great place that I didn't even know existed.

Well, my big bro downloaded Znes and a bunch of games a few years back.
I got curious and started to check the games out, and inmediately got into CT and FFV.

Funny thing, my bro actually told me not to waste my time with CT (said it was boring...)
Well, i'm glad I didn't listen.

I've been a guest at the Compendium for a few years now, but it signed up for the forums after downloading Prophet's Guile and not being able to install it properly... i know i know... i'm kinda computer illiterate lol

The only RPGs I had played before were Kingdom Hearts, and FFIII DS, and then I read about Chrono Trigger somewhere, and I wanted to play it. After like, a year, when I was 10 or 11, I found a ROM and ZSNES, which I had been told not to download, but did anyways. So, I played, and beat it months later, then before I got the developers ending, My computer died. So, I came here one day, and read about it, and got the save state (I think). Then, last November I came here, and got addicted. A day after Chrono Trigger DS came, I got Cross, which I actually haven't beaten yet, but read the story because I never thought I would get it. Because of Chrono Trigger, I am now a SNES gamer and have played almost every Square RPG I've heard of.

For me at the time (1995) I was only 7 playing games like Donkey Kong Country, TMNT Turtles in Time, and of course Super Mario All Stars xD. Really at the time I didnt know what an RPG even was. I was at my neighbors house one day and he had the game lying on his floor in his bedroom. I picked it up and asked him if it was any good. He says "Nah that game sucks, you can have it." So I took and home and tried to play it and had no idea what I was doing. I started on one of his saves and my first battle I was trying to hit combinations  of buttons to try to do special attacks. . . >.< Once I actually got the hang of it I was in heaven xD. Took me ages to beat it but I loved every minute. So really if I didnt find CT that day Im not really sure if Id be the same gamer I am today. THANX CHRONO TRIGGER <3

It was the very first RPG I ever played. It was a rental. Of course, I didn't know what the hell I was doing, and got stuck in the first battle with Magus. I ended up taking it back. A few years later, I found myself staring at the rental box once again, and figured what the hell. I was a bit more knowledgeable by then...

And then I arrived in Zeal. I enjoyed the entire arc immensely, but hearing Schala's Theme playing out, something sort of... clicked in my mind.

From then on, I was a fan of the series (...and Schala... >_>... <_<...) and never looked back.

Well I got the game in a giant two gig pack of snes roms, I recognized the name as a game a friend of mine was ranting about and gave it a shot. CT was the first RPG of it kind I ever played, up until that point the only RPGs I played was the Ultima series and Fallout 1/2.

It was the first game I ever really played. I never played the SNES version, just the PS1 version. I didn't have my own Playstation back then so I would play it on my cousin's using my own memory card. Nostalgia also plays a huge part in why I continue to go to Chrono forums to this day. I have so many memories with that game. Plus, hearing "To Far Away Times" nearly made me cry the first time I heard it in the ending.
