Why is it that every time I try to play Vagrant Story with the intentions of playing it all the way through once and for all I give up at some point out of frustration/confusion/lack of interest? All I hear from people is "Vagrant Story is such a good game" and "Vagrant Story this and that" and "You aren't a gamer unless you love Vagrant Story".

Well this time I will finish it. And if I don't...

...then fuck Vagrant Story.

Vagrant Story was a pretty good game, but I can see why some people can't get into it.

It's because the weapon modding takes some getting used to...and it also gets old having to dismantle everything & get your ass to an item box if you don't have the right set-up for the monsters in the next area...I'm in the same boat as you more or less...I think I just need a walkthrough that tells me the monster types though...Otherwise it IS a pretty kickass game!

I remember Starmen pulling an Anonymous on Nintendo concerning EarthBound not being on the Wii Virtual Console.

I also hear that the ADVERTISING FAIL concerning EarthBound is why they refused to release MOTHER 1 and MOTHER 3 outside of Japan.

Right now, I'm playing Kingdom Hearts II. We're overlevelled and currently questing Ultima Weapon. I like kicking ass as Sora, but his Disney companions can go to hell for all I care.

Dammit, Goofy! Stop wasting my potions. Those cost mo--DONALD! Knock that off! Ugh... why can't I have Cloud and Tifa?

I agree. For a good while, I was trying to get Donald to stop using Aero whenever enemies showed up.

Got back into Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia, and busy with Eligor(sp?) in the Arms place.

Yes, but then... I couldn't run around as my drive forms. I love the drives... Final is fun, Master is dull, Wisdom needs levels, Valor is overlevelled but kicks ass, and that crazy black one is just sweet.

Also, when I saved, they would come back. Anyone have a GameShark? I want to hack it so that instead of Donald and Goofy, I have Cloud and Tifa. Dude. Kickass much?

You can't. They're part of the plot. Best you can do is replace whichever one is worse to you with the Resident Party Member.

well, if you don't want to kill them off, you can always go with option B, which is to go into your menu and change it so they don't use items and magic that often, or not at all.

And I tend to disagree. You can sit there and let them die and not help them and not revive them, but like tea said, they come back.

It's all about strategy. Without Goofy, I may not have been able to defeat the Phantom in the first Kingdom Hearts.

Anti-Form kicks ass. I hate Master because even if you hit Square, he doesn't bounce back from a hit. He's not very useful... yet my pet Sora here, complete with his broken arm, is dressed in his Master clothes. I would've preferred a little Roxas.

Roxas > Sora.

Hey, how come there are no CT/CC characters in KH? There's loads of Final Fantasy (hell, Setzer shows up!), but no CT or Ergheiz or anything else.

In my opinion, I would enjoy KH a lot more if there was less Disney. The story is strong and it doesn't need Disney to make it better. If anything, I'm less likely to play it because I must keep two of them with me at all times. My favorite part was in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden when Goofy almost dies or something and Sora is one his own. He's running around, then all of a sudden the FF characters show up and kick ass with him.

I believe it's because Nomura didn't wanted to use characters he didn't create, which is why there was only from VII onwards.

But for KHII, he made a few exceptions.

I think the Disney aspect is what MAKES Kingdom Hearts.  I mean, if it didn't have the Disney it would just be another Final Fantasy.  Then they would take some cheesy tag-on line calling it, "Final Fantasy: Pectus Vesica" or something.

As for why Square hasn't added any Chronoverse characters to the Kingdom Hearts series... it's the same reason why we don't have any Secret of Mana, The Bouncer, Romancing Saga, Front Mission, Bushido Blade, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, etc. characters in Kingdom Hearts.  Final Fantasy is the heart and soul of Square Enix, sadly.
