CT/CC/RD MIDI files?
« on: January 06, 2009, 01:11:46 pm »
I'm searching for MIDI (.mid) files for music from Chrono Trigger, Radical Dreamers, and Chrono Cross for potential use in CT:SD. The game kit I'm using to develop CT:SD only accepts WAV and MIDI as far as I know and I still want there to be some decent music in the game.

Any help is much appreciated in the ongoing development of Chrono Trigger: Schala's Diary!

The attachment is my collection of CC midi files.

About RD, you can try this site: http://www.radical.or.tv/midi/rdmidi.htm

Yeah, I think you must have already known vgmusic.com...

Thanks! Oh, and apparenly I came across "FMOD", which supports MP3 manipulation. It's used by SNES9X and World of Warcraft, so I figured this is the answer to my dilemma.

Thanks for the MIDIs though!

Ah, mp3 should be the best solution by now.

You won't find every song, but there are CT, CC, and RD songs on there.

MP3 is a proprietary format. If you are making a commercial product that uses MP3 files, there's a license fee you have to pay.

I don't think it'll be a commecial product.
Or perhaps you can try ogg format.

I sequenced about eight tracks from Radical Dreamers, they're available at vgmusic.com; the collection there is mostly complete except for the ending theme Le Tresor Interdit. I had started to sequence it, but got frustrated as I was trying way too hard to emulate that stupid guitar strumming. Anyway, you have permission to use any of the RD midis sequenced by Joe Schwebke.

What are you using to make it? I'm planning on making a game too, and I have a TON Of good music That I could use. Schala, You know what game this is if you've been paying attention in the Temporal Odyssey Sign up thread.

I've decided on using OGG sound files since they're just under half the size of their MP3 counterparts with virtually no change to quality. I posted an example in TO sign-up

Lucky for me I happened to come across a static library for OGG.

IDK, this laptop is stupid. I can't even watch vids unless they use Adobe Flash Player 9. That, and the school filters aren't helping.
