Cross/Trigger references in Final Fantasy Tactics:A2?

I just received the game this Christmas, and I am currently playing it, along with CT:DS of course. However, I noticed quite a few references to Cross while playing it though. One of the early missions that you have to complete is stopping a band of bandits called the "Yellow Wings". The leader is a thief named "Kidd". Interesting huh. More, some of the random names that generate for monsters include a name called "Magil". If I recall, it's another variation of Magus' name. Also, a random name that generates for the hume race is "Serg". I don't know if these are significant, but they were little things I noticed while playing. The theif, Kidd, really surprised me though.

Only thing that would've completed it is if they had been called Radical Dreamers or Black Wind...

Yeah, I was like "What the heck!", when I saw this. I really think that square was alluding to Cross. I mean, a theif named Kidd leading a gang of bandits, how is that not Cross?

Yeah, are you sure that's not Captain Kidd the pirate?

Eh? I never thought of that. It could be, but since I noticed other names like Magil and Serg, I think not.

Yeah, I haven't played FFTA2. Does the random names you metioned are a prefix plus a suffix?

It could just be Captain Kidd or even Billy the Kid. Serg(e) is also a pretty common name so in all the random names that the name can generate it's not too surprising to see it. Yellow Wings doesn't ring a bell. The Magil name IS interesting though. But was it also Magil in the Japanese version or "Gil" like in the Japanese RD? If it was also Magil, it might just be a coincidence.
