[After defeating Lavos at the Ocean's Palace or at the Telepod before you go
to 600 A.D. in a New Game+]

Main Room
---

Crono finds himself in a familiar place - The End of time. Various sprites
represent the developers. I'll highlight them by room, since there are quite a
few.

Keizo Kokubo (Old Man): Good job! You reached the hardest ending! This is the
Chrono Trigger development room. Take a walk around and hear what the team has
to say! I hope you and all of the staff who worked on the game took something
from it and will continue to grow and prosper, no matter what the future holds
in store. Come back to see me again once you complete your rounds.

Akiyoshi Masuda: Kokubo and I've been practicing our anti-stress massages on
each other instead of working. Shoulder massages - shoulder!

Taizo Mamo: What are you lookin' at, buddy? Tryin' to start something'? [sic]
C'mon, bring it on!

Hiroki Chiba: 1-4! 1-4! Come on, 1-4! Noooooo! I lost again!

Yoshinori Kitase: There are more than ten different endings Have you seen them
all? The ending you get depends on when you challenge Lavos.

Kezuka: Better find the switch soon or it'll all go up in flames!

Matsuzo Itakura: Did you figure out my Poyozo Dance attack? See you again in
another game soon!

Shinichiro Okaniwa: I can't even remember the last time I cut my hair. Look how
long it is! Better get myself to a barber.

Kato: No storm lasts forever. Even eternity must come to an end. I think.

Kiyoshi Yoshii: Ah, yes, such a moving story in that 128th entry to the Chrono
series! What? Oh no, this must be the wrong era!

Akihiko Matsui: What did you think? I hope you had a good time! See you in
another game!

Manabu Daishima: Hey out there in TV land! How're we doing today? It's me,
Manabu Daishima! Let's all buy games, okay? None of this renting and borrowing
stuff!

Minoru Akao: Ah, I love a good quest! Don't you?

Takashi Tokita: Sorry, it's a bad makeup day for Takashi Tokita.

Kazuhiro Ohkawa: Congratulations! Did you have a good time?

Yoshinori Ogura: I'm just happy to have been able to work on this game!

relief it's over!

Shinchiro Hamasaka: I just helped the Chrono Trigger team a tiny bit. Good job,
guys!

Yasuhiko Kamata: Having 32 megs means we can use a lot of graphics. Using a lot
of graphics mean we have to create a lot of graphics. Well, it was hard work,
but it sure was fun!

Mami Kawai: Oops! Did I forget to insert a few parts again? I'm so sorry, it
won't happen again!

Fumi Nakashima: Did you see the little character animations on the world map,
ribbit? There's Lucca reading a book, Chrono [sic] all in a rush...Know what
I'm talking about, ribbit?

Hiroyuki Ito: Heh heh...The Tyranno Lair? Yup, it was my bright idea to put the
switch in the mouth! Sorry 'bout that.

Now I'm gaining weight instead. Ack! I must be getting old.

And since you blew through the game so fast, we've adjusted the credits to suit
your style!"

The regular credits roll by at an incredibly fast pace, followed by the not so
fast DS credits.

Did we learn anything new at all? I was hoping for a reference to "the upcoming Chrono Break," but alas.

I haven't seen the actual Japanese line yet, but this should be Horii's new line in the Japanese version. (Assuming my current script dump is right.)

I think Vehek said it's a new line because SNES version doesn't contains this line.

Yeah, our SNES retranslation also has the "Stapler, Mothra, Olympics" line. Yuji Horii's line is definitely completely different than the SNES version.

A few quick things:

Horii's line in the DS version is basically, "This game first debuted in 1995.  It's been a long time since then, huh."  Again, obviously changed from the SNES version.

And, I was intrigued by the Taban-looking Keita Eto's line: "You want a buggy map repaired? 10,000,000 G ought to cover the cost. "  Its ridiculous (as Developer Room conspiracy theories tend to be), but has anyone actually tried talking to him when they have that much money? 

Lastly,when you speak to Katsuhisa Higuchi (The Crawlie in the dungeon pillar) he does attack you, right?  Just wondering if that was in all versions of the game.  I was amazed that you really could lose that fight and get booted back to the menu without being able to save your data or anything.  I thought it was just messing around like the "3,2,1... Reset" trick.  Brutal.

It's not possible to obtain the amount of gold required.  Even if it was, there's no actions for that NPC other than to display the textbox and hammer animation.
