I think the original rom never works under zsnes or snes9x.
Some hacked rom is twice bigger as the orginal, just because they put the fonts at the end of the rom. Actually, this game reads fonts from bios.
I tried the original rom on snesgt, yes, it worked, but there was no text displayed on screen, just because I didn't have the bios.

Bummer... but these days size shouldn't be the concern, but memory instead. Disk space is cheaper than memory.
