Was Zealian blue hair dyed?

 Apparently, there's a version of Chrono Trigger where someone in Zeal tells you that the royal family dyes their hair blue as a status symbol. Can anyone confirm this? and it may explain something about Schala's hair in Chrono Cross.

I've checked both the original english and the retranslation like over ten times, and so far, the only blue hair mentioned is about Magus, when Frog asks where did the blue-haired one went after waking up in Ayla's tent. That, and Ayla asking if the blue-haired one tasted good.

As far as I am aware, that was actually a fan fiction piece, not an actual part of the game. But I've never seen it myself, so it may just be hearsay.

Hair dye is never mentioned in the games to my knowledge (there were actually several brunettes in Zeal), it's just a genetic and anime-style thing. Lucca's mom has blue hair, as well.

I think the theory came from Kid being blonde and Schala being blonde once she became the Time Devourer. I think it's more to set her apart from the cast and make it not so easy to guess her identity (compare to Rei Ayanami's blue hair in Evangelion, made such to set her apart from the rest of the cast and probably to disguise her origins). If you want to apply any sort of theory to it, I think it's symbolic of her identity being "drained". Moreso in RD, where Kid has a more platinum blonde color than in CC.

As far as I know it's just a stupid GameFAQs perpetuated rumor. Also, people in various timelines have the blue hair.

I've never seen this either. The best theory is just to assume it's a racial thing and not to think too hard about it.

Definitely, there are various hair colors in video games and anims.
Maybe they are not actual color, and few peope question it. Unlike in real life, if you see a man with green hair like Glenn...

They didn't dye their hair because not all people in Zeal have blue hair. If it was something that was a requirement for them to do everyone would have blue hair. It's pure coincedence. And please don't bring this up again without actual sources 'cause I heard this rumor too many times now.
