New Game or CT Sequel?
« on: November 21, 2008, 10:59:11 pm »
I'm aware Cross is still canon, yes, but we haven't had several loose ends with the Trigger cast tied up yet, namely what happened to Crono and Marle.

As for an entirely new setting, that's mainly what Kato set out to achieve with Cross, bringing new characters and stories into the fold.

So, my question is this: Which would you rather see next? A new Chrono game or a game that wraps up Trigger once and for all?

Don't get me wrong, I like Crono and Marle and all, but I just think it's all about meeting new groups of kids who have their "moment of friends and memories" IE: forming their party and kicking ass, then sadly saying goodbye at the end. (Trigger was a little subtle about this happening, Cross telegraphed it across the game's face.) If we do bring back old Chrono Characters, they should have their own independent stories. Take Ayla for example. A game about some particular adventure in Prehistoric times could just be ripe for the picking. It could even be a light hearted game, as long as it isn't to be considered "the next Chrono".

I don't see why they couldn't do both again...but then again, I personally think we know enough of what happened...knowing more would make certain things concrete, but tbh, I'm not sure I want to know everything that way...Sometimes the best parts of a story are those the reader finds out for themselves...So I'd be all for an entirely new setting, new characters (a tight, well-developed cast) & new boss. Since CT I had always thought the series would travel into space...The one loose end I always wanted to see was Lavos' origin...

I vote both. The CT follow-up can take place between CT and CC or after CC, or even be AU, like RD. Besides, We already did the "New Story" thing with Chr(o)no Crusade.

A whole new game would be awesome, but honestly they could easily take down two birds with one stone and tie up CT's  loose ends in a new game as well.

I think it would be cool if they did something sort of like how CC was to CT.  Where the characters and story are different but it has several connections to the other games.

I say there should be a Chrono Trigger sequel. No references to Cross, just a new adventure. With the original crew. Maybe someone new... It's like when you watch a good movie and don't want it to end...

About the Chrono series? If so, no shit. That's why I came here so many months ago. :)

While I admire you're love for the Chrono, Chrono Cusade has absolutely nothing to do with our beloved game series. (But is still completely great in itself.)

Remake Chrono Cross explaining what happened with new scenes etc etc...then go on with the game.  Probably the quickest choice if they did remake.

I think only a few sequels are good, like Secret Of NIMH 2 (b/c of the guards marching around while they're at NIMH towards the end of the movie) and Kingdom Hearts 2 (Roxas pwns all ROFL).

Remake Chrono Cross explaining what happened with new scenes etc etc...then go on with the game.  Probably the quickest choice if they did remake.

Supported. I still want the Battle System changed.
