Okay, I have a question that I just posted in the DBT forums, but it affects CE as well,

Are we going to take CT:DS's Final Final Boss and what it might bring into account?

Not if it involves significant changes.

Dalton: That's enough for today... But just you wait, Crono! This isn't over yet! I'll raise the greatest army the world has ever seen in Porre, and use it to wipe your pitiful little kingdom off the map. Heh heh heh... Ah hah hah hah hah!

Marle: You won't touch Guardia. Not if I have anything to say about it!

Dalton: Farewell!

Does that count as a significant change? And might I add, that is the stupidest way Square Enix could have revealed this juicy tidbit? They should have let the Compendium do the writing.

FUCK YES IT DOES!

I think that essentially blows CE out of the sky.

It's...it's like Square just erupted from the ground and rained canon across our game, turning it into a desolate future. :(  :(  :(

Now, wait just a darn minute. I think this is excellent for CE -- you've already predicted Dalton's still alive. Just make him...a bit more active. Now you know exactly how to address the Fall of Guardia!

EDIT: But at the very least, it would call for a moderate rewrite, eh?

It's really not the end of the world.  It certainly isn't worth changing CE, we state pretty clearly that CE is not canon and it shouldn't be (it's in the movie you are forced to watch at the beginning if you have no saves).  That being said we establish that Dalton is working with King Zeal so who knows maybe he whispered it in his ear.

If nothing else we can just be like "another dimension bwa haha".  I'm not going to be doing any major changes this late in development it's taken this long to get existing bugs out i'm not going to add anymore.  Once zeality gets some free time we'll have the dialogue, beta test and release.

CE was supposed to fit into canon and I think it only cheated a little. It's just annoying that now, our plot is a lot more likely to conflict with canon.

This applies to CE too. For what it's worth, just wanted to let you guys know that our project needs yours more than ever now. From my understanding there is no damage to canon whatsoever in CE, other than the handling of the Fall of Guardia now, and Dalton's onscreen death (was it even onscreen?)

Vehek:  Yea it hurts, i understand and i definitnely am sadder than i'm showing on this forum but i am not going to let it deter me.  We worked really hard on this we shouldn't let us get it down.  It was never a canon game, it was a fan game.  It was just awfully convenient that it didn't conflict with anything :)

From my understanding the new stuff is from the dimension where crono and co. didn't come back to zeal after schala and the prophet left them.  So our dalton is not the dalton that is found in the new content.  the fall....well....sigh haha.  I mean.....er......we MAYBE can make some hints that dalton is trying to convince zeal to attack guardia?
