...If 6 letters are available then why couldn't you name him "Chrono"

Apparently it wasn't possible to name Serge "Crono" or "Chrono" either. So that's why I want certainty.

In Ending No.11, Magus's lines are changed to:

If I must vanish from existence to see this done,
then I shall welcome that fate!

which used to be:

If my fate is to be destroyed,
I must simply laugh!
Ah man, I liked the original version better: If history is to change, let it change! If the world is to be destroyed, so be it! If my fate is to be destroyed...I must simply laugh!!

I still want to see the rest of that line, to see if the whole thing was better or not.

Dang so many pages! XDDD

I'm not sure if this has already been said but... Here's it anyway. If it has been said then feel free to disregard it.

Most of the renaming, inclusions and changes are taking place in order to make "CT compatible with CC", and not the other way around.

Especially the origin of the Dragon's Tear and sort.

Also, the tech called "Grand Dream" has been changed to "Master Mune".

The Dragon's Tear is a bad translation.

The Dragon's Tear is a bad translation.

Christ, of all things to mistranslate... So it's just a normal old item and nothing to do with the CC artifact of the same(ish) name? Besides this and DBT/Time's Eclipse, is there anything else that Slattery got wrong? On a side note, I'm gonna assume they'll be using these terms in all future Chrono games...

Dragon's Tear is a new accessory, but has nothing do with the Dragon Tear whatsoever. It's an earring in the form of a tear; I believe in japanese it was called Dragon Pierce (pierce = earring in japanese).

And yes, there's more stuff Slattery got a bit wrong, but nothing so important that it pops in my head right now.

That's true. I think the point was that they thought you could make the Chrono Cross or something like that. Maybe I'm misinterpreting it. IDK.

It's possible that it's just the form of the Dragon Tear in that dimension...

I don't think so. If it's trully just an earring, then it should have been named Dragon Earring, not Dragon Tear. How did Pierce (Earring) got mistranslated as Tear I don't know.

Three words. Mistranslation... is... bad. Any questions?

It also says...

Quote from: Dragon's Tear Description
An earring made from a great wyrm's teardrop.

So it would appear that it's actually a literal tear from a dragon...

Mastermune(Serge's weapon) in Chrono Cross is called grand dream in Janpanese version(グランドリーム, gran'dream, grand dream).

lol, but that's strange they didn't translate Masamune to 'Grandleon' in CT officially.

Yeah, I found that odd too. IMO, they should have changed it.

For the record, I made that change myself when I wrote Chrono Flux Redux, which can be found in the RP section. One of the differences between it (based on CTDS) and the original Chrono Flux (based on CT for SNES) was that Sonic's legendary sword is the Grandleon, whereas for his OCF (Original Chrono Flux) counterpart, Nathé, the sword was the Masamune. Same sword, different name.
