Creating a DS Feature Team
« on: September 21, 2008, 01:22:44 pm »
Hey all,

I think that we need to make sure we are prepared for the DS release.  Unfortunately I dont have the tools to do any of the below but I'm sure someone here does...maybe?

1)  Creation of a rom

Obviously DO NOT UPLOAD IT ANYWHERE last thing we need is this thing spreading to the internet cause of this site.  But i really am interested to see how similar the DS release is to the current version.  And a creation of a ROM would allow someone tomake a tool to dump the new dialogue

2) Pictures

Yea I'm in the past and don't have a camera.  But "unboxing" pictures are all the rage right now.  I dont know if there's a cool way to get in game screenshots that don't involve taking a picture of thee DS itself.

Well, once numero uno is taken care of, we can just get screengrabs using an emu...

haha true.  Well does anyone have a way to do that?  A quick search yielded this site:

CTDS is such a popular & much anticipated title, I can't imagine the ROM won't get out on its release date...

If you have a Flash card yourself, you can rip a game using a computer that has wifi, a DS and the original cart. I do this with all my games, to make life a hell of a lot simpler. (and less full of cartridges.)

[In other words, you can make your own the day you get your hands on the cart]

Aprocalypse would you be able to do this and see how it reacts in Temporal flux (it's a long shot...).  Otherwise I may work with JLukas and maybe email Geiger to see if we can work on making some sort of dialogue ripper.

Unfortunately, I'm in Australia, so I won't be getting this game in legitimate form for a long time after most people here will. Although, that's nothing new - I've been waiting to buy this game for about 13 years or so. <_<

(I'm also pretty much entirely sure that temporal flux would just be very confused, and error out - different data formats, different ways data is processed (example is that the DS has two ARM processors and the snes has one))

I'm guessing until you get a ROM, you're going to want someone to make the new dungeons on the SNES. For appearances of course.

If I happen to hop the East Sea over to Japan in the next few months I'll be sure to grab a copy, but I'll probably be way too busy. I'll regularly check the Seoul COEX mall and stuff around that time too, but I'm pretty sure someone will have gotten a hold of it well before I ever see it. If not, then you're all slacking.

Wow those new screens are really making me feel like they did alot more than I initially thought for this release.
