http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2480882/1/Chrono_Quest   It claims they are going to find Chrono's mom but she is alread in the game as she gives you 200G in it for the fair and she wakes Chrono up.   If it weren't for her Chrono would probably miss Lucca's side-show.

 Alright, I'll explain this for you...    for comedic effect and some ending story, Mom chases Crono's cat into the leene square gate just before it closes indefinitely. So, Marle suggests they use the Epoch to go and find her (and the cat.)   The fanfic is referring to THAT. THAT. and THAT is why everybody is looking at you like you're from mars or something.

2) Learn proper grammar
3) play through a game before commenting on fanfics
3.5) in fact, play through a game before reading a fanfic for it at all...

Fanfics are usually made by fans for fans (or just for the author's ego...who can say?), so you should actually have a moderate to good grasp on the fiction that it's a fanfic of in the first place.
