Prophet's Guile Rom Injection
« on: December 15, 2008, 03:47:08 am »
I hate to make a new topic and all, but I'm stuck in a rut.
I've had luck injecting chrono trigger into a Donkey Kong Country 2 .WAD (a ".wad" file is a Wii Channel)
but whenever I patch Prophet's Guile headered or unheadered onto CT it allways goes black on the press "A" to continue screen, with the Zeal Family. I've also tried CT Crimson Echoes  headered and unheadered, and the same thing happens at the press "A" to continue screen. (goes black, but sound still works) I have the VCicon banner and save icon all ready to go, I just need to get past this hump. If anyone knows anything about this please help me. I need this Virtual Console game more than I needed Parallel Worlds. Thx for your time

PS great rom hacks,

I don't know what the difference is (I'm not very familiar with Wads), but I'm playing Prophet's Guile on Snes9x via Homebrew Channel, and it's working fine to me...

Prophet's Guile uses an 48 megabit ROM, while CT was originally a 32 megabit ROM. Unless things have changed, no Virtual Console SNES games are compatible with 48 megabit ROMs.

hey do you know where i can find a list of 48 megabit ROMs?
it might make it easier to find a solution, if someone else already has.
I'll post at GBAtemp but i dont know if that will help

I don't think too many games used it--Star Ocean definitely did and Tales of Phantasia might have...

The same kind of chip used to decompress 32megabit data could decompress 48megabit data...I don't know whether that helps in relation to Virtual Console, but that's just some information I quickly skimmed.
