I just watched it, and I can definitely see how this movie and the character Snake Pliskin influenced Hideo Kojima in the creation of the Metal Gear games...

Gives me a few ideas for a few of my own movies.

I've never seen it, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. What's the movie about? If it's something that Hideo Kojima (or as I like to call him, Turbo Jesus) likes, then it must be good.

Saw it for the first time three weeks ago. You totally expect that woman he meets to play a role in the film, and then two minutes later she's history. That was a nice curveball.

A little late to the party, are we not?  Movie has been out for damn near 20 years...nay 30 years.  But yes, fantastic movie.   Although I saw Escape from LA first, NY is the better of the two.  Just watch it Tact.  Wiki it and read the first couple sentences of the plot and that will give you the premise.

Escape from New York = kickask!
Escape from LA = ehh, not as good as the first.

Gosh, it's pretty much the films I don't mind Kurt Russel.  I heard they were planning on making a third one (I seriously think it was called "Escape from the Moon" or something absurd like that...  Now they're talking about remaking New York. Which could be incredible if done correctly (and they got the right person for Snake).

Seen both along time ago. I see the influence too, hence they're both named Snake.

And you know... Iroquois Pliskin?

Who was Snake. Even though they spelled the name different (suck it Universal.)

A little more then just influenced by Pliskin. Solid Snake changes his name TO Pliskin in the second. Plus the really look alike as well as attitude(Pliskin is a bit more rough).
