So Square has had a couple of series go off without a sequel in some time. Some of these could be in need of a remake. My question is, what do you think deserves a remake/sequel?

Also note there is no Chrono option, I know this is a forum about Chrono, but I want to see what other games you guys would want.

Info for games.

Super Mario RPG had a spiritual successor in the Paper Mario Series, but never a direct sequel, so that might be cool.

Otherwise I voted for a Vagrant Story sequel. It was a very unique game and I enjoyed the item creation aspect, though it took me a while to really get the Risk system down to a science. I think it would be cool to play a sequel, though they might not be able to be a direct sequel, maybe a sequel in gameplay at least.

I picked Live A Live, the game had eight distinct stories plus a final one that tied everything together. It'd be cool to have a remake or even a sequel for it.

Come on, they don't make games like that anymore.

Never played Live A Live. Heck, I do not think I even played any of the games on the list except the two I already mentioned. Guess I need to broaden my horizons.

Tom Sawyer was just a licensed title...I doubt they still have the rights to it...nor should they...it was just another lame 8-Bit platformer in a sea of "I wish this was Super Mario"s.

While it getting a remake is nice 'n' all, I think most fans REALLY wanted a SEQUEL to FFTactics. And, no, the FFTA series doesn't count...I don't blame 'em, since the project head behind FFT & Vagrant Story left, I believe, but whatever...

Bahamut Lagoon was alright, but there are already far better SRPGs available...I'd rather they just stick w/the FFT series.

I voted for Live-a-Live, however, as it's by far the best Square game that never got an (official) English translation. A DS remake would be godly...a sequel...might just end up like the SaGa Frontiers...>_<

Vagrant Story for sure.  That game was so great...

Then Super Mario RPG.  That's a close second.  I like the Paper Mario series and all, but it just isn't as good...

I also voted Vagrant Story. To me, that awesome ending just screamed for a sequel, and I could never understand why Square would let such a unique IP just fizzle out. If Ashley's still the main character with those shapeshifting abilities, there could be interesting gameplay possibilities.

Vagrant Story, although RnH(Treasure of the Rudras) gets a close second in my book.

No love for Xenogears? For shame.

How true. My guess is Nightmare left out Xenogears because of the existence of Xenosaga; but the way Saga turned out just left me wanting more of the Gears series as it was originally intended to be when Takahashi wrote Perfect Works.

I voted other for a few reasons:

Threads of Fate, an awesome action RPG for the PS1 that I thought was exteremely overlooked.

Thousand Arms, same as the above, except turn based.

Legend of Dragoon, now that I look back I'm not entirely sure if it was SquareSoft, but it deserves a sequel.

Parasite Eve, Action/Shooter/RPG about a hot scantily clad blonde chick fighting mutants. Case Closed.

Parasite Eve has a sequel...and it's also getting another sequel called The 3rd Birthday...

And no, Legend of Dragoon was not Square. I believe it was just SCEA.

I was aware of the sequel, but I had no idea about the third installment. Also, I think a movie came out around the same time FF: The Waste-of-Money Within cam out.

I only selected games that have not gotten any form of a sequel or remake.

Xenogears had Xenosaga, regretfully.

I would love to see Live-A-Live get released outside of Japan either for DS or PSP (too bad GBA is dead =/)...

As for non-Square-Enix series, I would love to see Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei I and II for SNES remade for DS or PSP and released outside of Japan...
