WARNING TO WII OWNERS: Firmware 3.3

Nintendo released the newest Wii firmware update today.

It kills Freeloader.

It kills any savefiles containing  homebrew (this screws up things for CT Wii players, of course).

This is ridiculous. Thankfully I googled before deciding whether to update or not. Good thing, too, 'cause I regularly play imported Brawl.

So, be careful guys.

To be fair, Nintendo did state as much in the Updater email thingy they sent out. It didn't specify those things in particular, but it was fairly clear that if it didn't originate from Nintendo, the update would zap it.

Good thing I don't have an internet connection for mine.

Nintendo and Square should team up. They seem to have a talent for crushing fan created software.

Very true. In fact, isntead of destroying CT Resurrection, Square should have friggin' SPONSORED it. If that was completed, licensed, and released, they would have a best-fucking-seller on their hands. It would have been an amazing financial move for them.

If you want better coverage of this I recommend GBATemp.net as it is a very good site behind the Ds flashcrts and Wii Hombrew scene.
You can find me using the same username.

For me Im not updating when I can play Chrono Trigger on my Wii.
