I am curious as to what are the most General Midi compatible game sound fonts ever made? I checked Zophar's list but they haven't update since like 01 or 02 so I want to know if that is it?
I am curious as to which ones cover the most instruments to where you are not forced to listen to certain midis to enjoy it.

I know Setzers SPC is one (not complete but add some instruments) and a Final Fantasy 6 one. Plus a NES soundfont has been made.  (Haven't tried that one out)  A bunch of Final Fantasy sound-fonts have been made but barley cover any instruments thud forcing you to only listen to Final Fantasy midis. :(  What a rude Sequencer to do that.

Good lord I'm a geek. I really hope I wasn't the only one to see the topic title and think "What in the who-ha's does Game Mastering have to do with soundfonts?"

For what it's worth, I was trying to think of anything General Motors makes that has the hardware for midi playback.

Ahem. Wouldn't you really be nerdy if you knew immediately that the GM stood for General MIDI, as I did?

As to the original query, I would say your best bet is to load a generic GM soundfont underneath the FF soundfonts, so as to fill in the missing instruments. Generic GM soundfonts are plentiful, and some of them are not completely terrible. For those, Google is your friend.
