Well, not the original series, no. But the Cube is the Allspark, which actually came out of the Beast Wars/Machines series. The concept of a Spark was introed in Beast Wars and "the Matrix" became the Allspark in Beast Machines. The idea was further refined later. I have no idea how they got from an entire dimension to a cube, but meh. I'm fine with a little Tetris homage.

And still, the new movie had character development, and Megatron didn't transform into a friggen pistol, and Rodimus Prime wasn't in it. That's gold, in my book.

It isn't the best movie ever, true, but it wasn't bad.

If anything I honestly thought he'd be in his tank form that he had in one of the series. I forget which one it was, but my friend had the action figure of him as a tank.

I thought Megatron's "Galvatron" cannon-form was his best incarnation, personally...

I got my nephew one of the Megatrons that turned into a tank...but his was from one of the cartoons that dealt with those smaller Transformers that they used to 'power up' or w/e...I really only got him it because the Optimus Prime was so much more expensive though...I figured let my bro have to buy that one.

They're hardly carbon copies. I've never seen how people so easily say "Goku=Crono" & the like. Besides the spiky hair & styles used, I don't think they look like one another. Now, true, like GlennLeo said, if you bring TOIE into it, maybe...but ufck them. They're borderline non-canon as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe they confused Chrono Trigger with Dragion Warrior 8. The Hero of that game even goes Super Sayain during certain attacks.
