The you'd probably find it incredibly funny.  In fact, I did know some extremely religious people who loved it...

Well, it must be good if religious extremists can enjoy it. They don't enjoy anything, ususally...

Have you poked your head in the "Oh No. Oh God." thread?

Well, you'd think SOME religious people would still enjoy Dogma...seeing how Kevin Smith himself is Catholic...I'm fairly sure...I may be getting religions wrong (i'm bad at that).

But, anyways...Jersey Girl...not Kevin Smith's best work...>_> That's all I'm gonna say about it!

Krispin, don't you fucking make assumptions about my syrup preferences.

Lawl, I remember Zeality said something like that and it even set me off. O.o

Buddy Christ, best religious icon ever. AND... he would make a great syrup bottle. Or maybe a jam jar, for Ableskivers.

I showed my parents the Buddy Jesus and they were offended.

Then again, they also got pretty pissed when they found out I had read The His Dark Materials Trilogy a few years back (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass).

Why were your parents offended by Buddy Jesus? It is like combining our Lord and Savior with the Fonz!

<.<

His Dark Materials was an interesting series, but not much to get upset over. Now if it were a well-written series, that might be a different story ;) A little motivation for the characters would have gone a long way.

Did your parent's feel the same way about Harry Potter? If so, they should meet my Grandma.

"That Harry Twathead is a high offense against The only Lord and Savior we can turn to! Might as well get the Government on that British bitch. We can accomplish anything with Bush's son in office. There's a man who get's stuff done!"

(I'm sorry grandma. I love you and all, but just give it a break.)

Okay, The Golden Compass = great story, great book.

The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass = crock of shit.  Except for the Melufa; I loved those things.

Pullman isn't that great.  I agree 100% that his story and characters had no real motivation for anything.  Any story that deals with a multiverse usually end up over their head and sucking.  For instance, as much as I loved The Dark Tower, by the end I was dragging my feet praying to God that it was gonna get better before it ended.

And then it ended and I was pissed.

But the Epilogue made up for that...A LITTLE BIT.

I saw the Golden Compass movie, and that makes me want to read the Subtle Knife/ Amber Spyglass.

And what's The Dark Tower? I've never heard of it, is it any good?
