Anyone know a good stain remover for syrup?
« on: April 15, 2008, 05:45:47 pm »
I have to eat breakfast at school, right? Well, I was I was carrying my Toast... Pancake... Substance? Back to my table to meet my friends, a few kids ran by and one accidentally ran into me, causing me to stain my awesome Iron Maiden jacket. ;_;

I tried washing it when I got home today, but nothing works. Does anyone know an effective syrup remover?

Seriously, that jacket was damn expensive.

Just regular syrup? You'd think hot water would be enough, really...I mean, it's just sugar, basically...>_>

What kind of material is it?

It wasn't berry syrup was it?

Try using one of those stain removing sticks. I think Tide makes some. You just rub it on, let it set for 10 minutes, then run them through a normal wash cycle with regular detergent. You might have to do it multiple times too.

Water is the only good stain remover.

Aye, basic [aka, "mayple"] syrup should come right out with hot water and a little soap. But if it were from a fruit or berry, then that is trickier (and you aren't really fighting a syrup stain). I've always found "shout" to be a good one, and those Tide pen thingies are quite popular among brides, or so I am told, as it seems to get almost anything out of white dresses.

... you know, I never expected to discuss stain removal on the internet, much less in a video game forum. Home Economics meets Home Entertainment, I guess.

Yeah, now that you mention it...  The fact that I've been on the fringe of a stain removal discussion PERIOD is interesting enough...

Thanks, I ran up to CVS after school today and picked up one of those Tide sticks. Worked like a charm.

And yeah, it was like... Rasberry or Strawberry or something.

... if you can't tell if the syrup is rasbery or strawberry, then you're school food scares me.

Not quite as much as the green corndogs, bouncing chicken (it literally bounced better than a rubber ball), and french toast sticks that we used as darts, from when I was a young'un subject to school food, but that still scares me nontheless.

Turning from the religion thread to this is a breath of fresh air. Nobody accusing each other of being syrup nazis or syrupy sexists, or opining on the many ways syrup harms the world.

Hurray for syrup! Hurray for Tact!

Well I think Firefly put it best:

Inara: So. Would you like to lecture me the wickedness of my ways?
Book: I brought you some supper, but.… if you'd prefer a lecture, I've a few very catchy ones prepared. Sin, and hellfire… one has lepers.

That's why I always stay the hell outta God threads! It never does anyone any good and you never really convince anyone of anything...people need to just have ideas, not beliefs...ideas are easy to change, beliefs are trickier. SO SAID CHRIS ROCK IN DOGMA AND SO SHALL IT BE!!! >_>

Syrup is good on waffles.

Some religious people are offended by it...  It's more satirical than anything, but it does promote some DOGMAtastic themes towards Christianity...
