Yeah, I tried pSX and it's not as epic as you guys are making it sound. I tried it on a few games, also.
ePSXe is better, in my opinion, if you take the time to get the full use out of your plugins.
In what is ePSXe better? The emulation core is a million times better in pSX, especially when it comes to timing issues. Even XA reproduction works a lot better in pSX.

So why are we arguing about these 2 emulators?  Let people choose what one they want to use and stop arguing about a pointless thing ._.

it's not actually arguing, it's more like pointing out the faults of each program

Um..I'm fairly certain that's an argument that's going on.

About whose penis is longer? C'mon, we were just talking about pros and cons for each emulator, not arguing or anything. Now, if you want an argument let's talk about Popstation.

Wasn't quite an argument, but I do see justin3009's point.
ePSXe seems to run better then pSX for me, maybe it's just because I've been using it for so long and know the plugins well. pSX just doesn't seem as good to me, there's nothing tragically wrong with it, but it's running kinda glitchy on some spots for me. Maybe it's just not working for my comp very well (Sadly, I have Vista, with my new comp >.<), I don't know, but like I said:

"MY" final answer:

ePSXe is better, if you're not lazy.
pSX is better, if you never wanna mess around with plugins.

Honestly, in comparison to the real thing, neither match up. So really my suggestion is stop using an emulator and go get a PS1, then you need not worry about any bugs or anything, ever. A PS1 runs like a PS1, no matter what.

Only one shortcoming with an original PS1 -- it can't make gameplay AVIs for you.

I'll have to try out version 1.14 of pSX as Gemini suggests. If it works, a lotta my problems will be solved, at least.

Do you mind if I ask you what are this glitches in detail?

Well, I've noticed it a lot with Xenogears, where the music will skip when changing areas, and the sound effects are off a bit. For example:
Fei punches a mob in the face, and 1 second later the sound of the punch is made.

I have no clue why they tremble that much almost in any occasion.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but the PSX lacks a z-buffer (or some other feature.. can't remember for sure).  It causes polygons to waver a bit, and this effect is visible on the original metal.  What makes it even worse is that devs would often code idle animations that heightened this effect.

I've also noticed that as well for Xenogears as well; for me epsxe+P.E.O.P.S. soft GPU(perfect video emulation save the rare occasion of a few noticeable errors--for the most part, most if not all games that inherently run well on epsxe will be processed well though this plugin--for Xenogears a few drawline errors are occasional with some sprites)+Eternal SPU(same thing--except for audio.) That and pSX renders Alundra *completely* unplayable as it doesn't recognize controller input.

Did you try setting the pad to "scph1010-Normal pad"? Alundra doesn't recognize pads in Dual Shock mode.

Yeah, but that tremble is more evident when you use a plug-in that enhances the graphics.

You know, I have never played a PS1 game on an emulator that was presented perfectly graphic wise. Sprites and what not are always not up to par when compared to the original machine. =P
