Why are people still posting in this thread?

My guess is he's/she's 18 now and JEEZUZKRYSTE is not. Only reason why he'd/she'd say that at all.

Enjoy it now while you can. Once you hit 21 you don't really look forward to getting older anymore lol.

He's lucky because I have to wait two years to become an adult. Here, the general age is 18. It's still 21 to drink... but I don't drink.

As if being an adult matters, save for the right to vote. Age is not a thing to be hurried or desired.

For you to tell me what I cannot say is a waste of time. We are all entitled to our own opinions, whether you like it or not. Now can we get back on topic or leave this topic be to rot away in the archives?

As some people are unworthy of life, so are some opinions unworthy of expression. Besides, she was merely expressing her opinon, so effectively criticising her opinion against your own is hypocritical, whether you like it or not. Asking people not to criticise your opinions is a pretty lame way of never seeming wrong, and a stupid way to converse.

There was no intention of criticising her opinion. All I was trying to say was "don't tell me what I can and cannot say."
I could care less what you say about my opinion, as long as you don't tell me I'm not allowed one.

Saw it twice in the same thread and it bugs me.  The expression is "I could not care less".  Not, "I could care less."

Grammar is slowly slipping into the toilet drain that is the past. And, no matter what the Chrono Games say, you can't go back and get it. Truly is sad, though.

Don't both imply the same thing? I mean, "I could care less" basically says that you could, but that it's unlikely, right? Because I think it's supposed to stress the 'could', whereas "I could not care less" is, well, more obvious in stating that it's so beneath you that there's nothing you care less about...

You've got a point. Another thing, though, that drives me cuckoo (aside from moving) is 'So don't I.' Living in Massachusetts (still can't spell it right and I've lived here all my life) I hear this a lot. Like the other day, my English teacher asked, 'Where's Dudeman?' Girl said, 'Inhouse. So isn't Gothgirl.' Teacher said, 'Oh. Okay! Moving on...'

UGH!

(names changed for privacy reasons; 'inhouse' is like detention during class. It's a pain.)

I don't believe so.  "I could care less" implies that you may or may not care less. E.g. "I could go to the gym today."  Where as the "..could not..", you put it well enough.  That is my take anyway, I am not a total grammer Nazi, as my grammer is less than par.  Just a pet peeve I suppose.

Are you kidding me?  Who says "So don't I" or "So isn't".  That is just as bad as the whole 'are/is' debacle.  Thank goodness I moved out of the US.
When I was in high school, "in class" detention was called I.C.E.  I am not sure what it stands for anymore, since it was the better half of a decade since I was in high school...  In-Class E____ something

"So don't I," "So isn't Gothgirl," what do those even mean?! In the word of George Taylor, from the Planet of the Apes:

It's a madhouse! A MADHOUSE!

But I think that must be a local curriosity (like California and the use of the word "hella"). Never heard it before, at least.

As said above...I wouldn't be in a hurry to be an adult.  I was like that as a kid and now i'm regretting that.  Oh the glory years of being a youngen...

How does that saying go, "If the youth could know what the old have learned."

Something like that let me look it up lol.

EDIT: I think it goes "If youth could know what age could tell."
