Nintendo Power - Huge RPG being shown in next month’s issue
« on: January 15, 2008, 03:10:19 pm »
“Next month’s cover story is an RPG so fantastic, so engrossing, so epic, and so hush-hush that we’d have to erase your memories if we told you what it is. In fact, maybe we already did. Role-playing fans, get ready for a big one.”

Wonder what's in store...? PleaseChronoBreakpleaseChronoBreak...

A SMRPG sequel was rumoured recently, so who knows?

Maybe Yasumi Matsuno's new game? There was some rumors some time ago saying that he joined Nintendo and/or Monolith Soft (a company owned by Nintendo now)...

Hopefully it ain't Sonic RPG.

I dunno; Mario translated into RPGs rather nicely, Sonic could too (or did they already do that?).

But the big news might be a new Square RPG for Nintendo (rather than just a remake or another installment in an ancient series). Been ages since I've gotten NP, but seems like Square games always had good billing in it.

... Does Spore count as an RPG? If so, they might finally be revealing what Will Wright has planned.

The issue with the Sonic RPG has the 'huge rpg' notice at the end of it, thank god.

Oh good. But to be fair, it is being made by Bioware.

I thought the last one I just picked up was big stuff (Dragon Quest Swords).

The images made by Toriyama-sensei that were plastered over what few pages they had on the game, invoked lovely memories for me of the legendary NP issues 74-thru-76.

The back of that issue said something about Sonic RPG, but I don't remember it saying anything about any other RPG. But if this information is true, then I seriously want to find out what the hubbub is about...

Wow, thats kind of depressing...  As much as I figured it would be improbable for it to be a Chrono sequel, its still saddening..

It wasn't the Sonic RPG they were referring to. They previewed Sonic RPG in the very same issue they announced they'd be revealing a 'huge RPG' the next month.
