Remixes of the entire soundtrack from Radical Dreamers, courtesy of several artists from OverClocked ReMix (www.ocremix.org).

This came out just a couple of days ago. There's some great stuff here. Check it out.

I'm about to listen. It's an OCR site project, so I sincerely hope it doesn't suck to hell like the last one.

Y'know, I'm still not sure what you didn't like about Voices of the Lifestream. Sure, there were a few tracks I really didn't like much (which is no surprise, given how many tracks they did for that project) but overall, I greatly enjoyed it. I certainly didn't think it sucked to hell, but hey, to each his own.

I think this RD project is pretty good. Not the best OCR project (Kong in Concert is still probably my favorite), but still pretty nice.

Did my first post automatically get posted to the front page and I just didn't realize it? Am I that big an idiot?

I saved seven tracks in total from Voices of the Lifestream. The rest is crap typical of modern OCR, where all the emphasis is on technical quality and production values and not representing the spirit of the source material. The Voices rendition of One-Winged Angel might as well be the Quod Erat Demonstrandum stamp on all of this. It's utter, unabashed crap and remixing chiptune wankery, completely detached and opposite the original theme of One-Winged Angel. And as long as djpretzel staffs the site with like-minded individuals with no VGMix 3 to allow free submission, fans are going to suffer from his tasteless preferences.

You're right on one thing: That OWA was pure crap. Easily the worst track on the project, and the only one I actually refuse to listen to. I hate it. But I think most of the project is decent at worst, and a few tracks are among my favorite FFVII remixes/arrangements.

Edit: This is a virt troll, right? The new site sucks compared to VGMix 2.

*Gasp!* VGMix is back up now?? Man, I'm really behind the times here.

I kept only a few tracks from Voices of the Lifestream myself. Not everything can be Chrono Symphonic, I guess -- that team was pure magic. I'll have to try Kong in Concert.

Great, he's not rolling over the VGMix 2 songs and users to VGMix X, so all that stuff is effectively lost and relegated forever to a VGMix 2 archive that will probably take another year to get online.

Why must the admins of the two biggest remixing sites be such insufferable, inept assholes :?

Personally, I was largely disappointed by Chrono Symphonic. It's fine to listen to all at once, but I don't think there's a single track from it that I like enough on its own to put it in some other playlist or anything like that.

The new VGMix site is pretty rough; it's my understanding that they're still working out the kinks. I don't think it's been open a week yet, so you're not really that behind, FaustWolf.

But there's some good music there......if you don't mind downloading everything to find tracks from games you know.

It does suck that the VGMix 2 stuff isn't getting rolled over. But I still have most of what I wanted to have from there anyway.

No argument there. Chrono Symphonic's remixes were ultimately underwhelming aside from some bright spots that popped up when the tracks weren't being dominated by the call for Frog's and Magus's themes. Claado Shou is completely gone from the community, too.

One of the "kinks" had better be game-based browsing of songs, and better browsing in general. An absence of that will relegate VGMix X to obscure failure.

Wow, well, to each his own. I absolutely loved Symphonic; it struck all the right chords for me, since I'm a big stickler for...symphonic...things. MetaKnight, thanks for bringing news of VGMix's resurrection, and here's to hoping all the great work previous contributers submitted can one day be readily accessed.

Happy to help! I just figured people around here might not have discovered either the RD project or the new VGMix yet, since both came out in the past week.

I just really, really hope they get the browse-by-game thing worked out at VGMix, or else, as ZeaLitY said, it won't last.
