Who would win in a battle, Magus or Crono, and why?

Personally, I think Magus would win, since while Crono would be taking out his sword, Magus would just use Black Hole on him.

I know that in the game, you beat Magus, but in this topic, put that aside.

Dude, Crono cheated death. That's like the ultimate advantage.

Also, no he (Crono) didn't, his friends cheated his death...And who told them they probably could save him? That's right...Magus...

No matter how you look at it, Crono was in danger of death, and escaped. Even if it was his friends who did it, Crono was the one who didn't die.

That's not entirely true either though...There's the one timeline where he DID die...So, if you look at it that way, MAGUS cheated death too, before Crono, by not dying in 600A.D. when he summoned Lavos. So Crono was just a Magus wannabe in that regard.

Oh don't be a sore loser...and with a Lightning barrier, Luminaire wouldn't touch Magus...

Too bad only the super-Godlike-awesome Magus you fight outside of your party (in 600 A.D. and then, possibly, in 12000 A.D.) has those barriers. Also, Crono would probably qualify as a Boss monsters in this fight (just as would Magus, although they'd both still be just how they are in your party), so Black Hole wouldn't work. Just something I'd like to point out, even though I still think Magus would win, because he could also use Magic Wall to reduce Luminaire's damage.

What? Who reduced this to a simple "Crono & Magus as they were in your party" battle...Also, aside from that, I think it'd obvious that Magus has other Magical abilities that aren't in his Tech list (his floating ability is just one)...I think it's plausible to say that he still has his Barrier ability, but he simply can't use them because of Tech number restrictions...Or perhaps because of Lavos, but once the Gates close, that he would regain said abilities at the very least...

Alright: Magus is a highly trained Shadow Mage and Crono is a kid with a wood sword.

A wood sword, and the most powerful Magic tech in the game. Besides, Magus is just a goth wannabe. He's a poser. Face it, Magus is an angsty goth/poser hyrbid.
