Shadow Hearts: Covenant

Anyone else here played SH:C? It has an interesting bit of time-travel worked into the end, and I'd like to see how you guys interpreted it. I'll share my own theories, too, if anyone cares. BTW, it's a great game, even if the ending is a bit confusing and open-ended.

There have been quite a few RPGs I've been looking into playing recently and I heard Shadow Hearts: Covenant was pretty good. I don't know if I'll get around to playing it anytime soon - Batien Kaidos (However its spelled!) comes out next month and I'll be playing Star Ocean III until it does.

I didn't play the first SH, though. Is it necessary to understand what's going on the sequel?

The first Shadow Hearts isn't strictly necessary, as all the relevant information is explained in SH2, but this also means that the game is completely and utterly spoiled if you play SH2 first. SH is a good game in its own right, and I'd recommend playing them both if you have the option.
