I'd love to continue to help but, A) Calculus and Anatomy/physiology are a bit more time consuming then I thought. B) God hates me and won't let my CT: Retranslation roms work. C) I just got Xenosaga episode II & III. I will keep trying the rom though!!!

I have finished beta testing. The latest ROM is named 05_Magus.smc. Here are the remaining tasks before release:

Bugs

  • Cockadoodles / couple other enemies in game spontaneously die; Mammon Machine at Black Omen & Lab 16 Acids do this too
  • Zeal Mage's 'Lock' in the Ocean Palace elevator freezes all sprite movement and action
  • Not sure, but Marle-only ending doesn't seem to be depicting Death Peak correctly

Tasks

  • Change Epoch to default 'Silvr'
  • Edit Sky and Dark graphics
  • Add in ASCII credits
  • See if CronoNick will work
  • Fix tech names
  • Insert title screen & Far Promise BGM
  • Insert Japanese ending art

I'll try to tackle the first two, then pass it on to Vehek.

Attached is Janus, the final ROM.

Vehek, I guess it's up to you now. Do you intend to try adding the Japanese art in? Now that Chrono'99 is back, he might be able to help with that as well if he has the time.

Once those are in, we should be through here.

Amazing news. Through a simple workaround event hack and pointer update, {CronoNick} is operable again.

I'll just add it after the art / screens are added in. How are those coming along?

It doesn't take much to do, but I've been busy with playing around with other things. Right now, I'm looking at what free space is available.

Okay. I fixed the tech names; that should have no bearing on extra space, so you could conceivably create an .ips. I've been testing adding in the ending art myself, but I'm paused at a certain obstacle.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, free space on my ROM begins at 423DA3.

OK, here's the title screen patch. It only works with expanded roms.
I haven't inserted the music yet; where are you going to use it? This type of title screen doesn't play music.

Ah, well then, we can forget the music for now.

So does this patch to free space after 423DA3? I'm not sure how to verify it.

I think it patches 42F000-4379FF. Most of it's after 430000; the 42F000's just where I stored the code.

I'm giving it one final playthrough with the names at maximum length tonight. Then, we should be ready for release. Since we lack hosting, I'll just have Ramsus upload the patch to the actual Compendium site server.

If you still have the ROM you created the title screen on, can you make a reversed removal patch by using it as the original file and the original as the modified? Just in case anyone else in the community wants to hack the CTR.
OK, here it is. Amazing how small it is.

Thanks. Guess I'll move this forum to finished fan projects now.
