Yes, I saw it as well.  Very amusing, although I was disappointed that the main CT characters didn't speak, even though they were in it at the very end.  I also love how Gato kept screwing everything up, and I like the way they portrayed Johnny as well.  Question: was it drawn by Akira Toriyama or not?  It has that feel and style, but I can't read Japanese credits, so...

BTW, I laughed my ass off as Johnny was flying through the air and reciting that poem.  Then the crash...so masterful. :)

From everything that I've heard, it's a fan project done by a few animators who loved Chrono Trigger. It isn't official.

Kilwalas are much larger, not to mention that the anime itself calls the little thing a Poyozo.

I thought Poyozos were all dolls, I don't think we ever see a living Poyozo in the game, but oh well...

The short was made for Square by Bird Studios, Toriyama Akira's animation group.  Even though it wasn't meant to be released to the general public I'd say it would still be called "official".
