Schala theme music - orchestral reinterpretation
« on: June 22, 2007, 04:25:20 am »
This is one of my first attempts at a fully orchestral piece, and I couldn't think of a better song to experiment with. Mind, this is fairly old and I have no intentions of completing it, but I'd still like to share it with the Compendium and get some feedback.

I really like it.  It's very gentle and a bit sad, which makes me think of Schala (in Zeal, before the events of CC).  I'm no great musician, but I think it's very nice.  :)

You're on to something good here. I almost didn't recognize what part the piano had until the key resolved in the famous "magus progression" as I like to call it. What composing/editing software did you use?

"magus progression"

I have no clue as to what you speak of, the only Chrono Trigger basis the song had was the original piano melody, which I played with to make the first melody you hear. This is all done in FruityStudio with synths and soundfonts.
