It's impressive how "Bad Romance" has served as a platform for others to make something good. This is probably the best of the lot.

My favourite Bad Romance parody is one about the French Revolution a friend linked me to ages ago.  Absolute brilliance.

It will be my honor and privilege if I can, some time in the future, be able to animate / direct / produce a flim / animation of Arsene Lupin in the modern age (much like Sherlock in the modern age). Deathnote-style!

Why? Because nobody till date has ever been able to do the classic stories any justice (besides Phantom Thief Kid, which was based on Lupin). That's why.

That said... wouldn't it then be quite an exciting situation for modern Lupin to be facing off against the modern Holmes in the affairs of the Blonde Phantom and the Hollow Needle? I certainly think so.

Alright so I just want to say how much I love this picture:

There was an inside joke floating around for a while comparing me to the white-haired lady from Game of Thrones (which I haven't seen, so I suppose it makes it more amusing) and that I was "Queen of Ferrets" instead of Queen of Dragons, so my brother's girlfriend drew this for me.  It is of me and Draco, who is a ferret-dragon and has wings.  I adore everything about this picture.

Hah, Game of Thrones was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the full pic!

Not that I'd necessarily recommend Game of Thrones to everyone; I kind of have a love-hate relationship with it myself. It's got to have downright triggering stuff by the boatload, especially the first season.

But I adore Syrio Forel and Arya Stark. Darn shame those characters didn't have more time together.

Sajainys Ferretyen. Mother of Ferrets! Sounds quite intimidating; I certainly wouldn't want to steal this queen's cookies, lest I be mauled by fire-breathing ferrets at night.

Art, plz?

Game of Thrones is a fascinating diamond, depending on which facet of life you tend to focus on. It's got a great simple-yet-complex storyline, with memorable characters, and brutal twists. But just because it's fascinating does not mean people have the obligation to like it, because that's the whole point of it: it's ugly as hell. And that's the entire decadent beauty of it (think Baudelaire). Which is why when we see flowers blooming amidst wastelands we find ourselves awestruck by such contrast and naturally gravitate towards them... until Martin cuts those flowers to make sure we never feel safe.

Personally, I love Game of Thrones, but I can see why despite its complexity it can turn people off. A friend of mine mentioned that, at the surface, it looked like cheap porn (especially the first episode) which turned her off and she never gave it a second chance. Maybe that's the right decision for her, though that again was the point of story: it brings the darkness of the dark ages into a steampunk / high-fantasy setting in its most grotesque form (well, it couldn't be REALLY as grotesque as the real deal, otherwise the series would have turned everyone off).

But yeah, love it or hate it, you gotta love Syrio and Arya. Those characters are possible two of the very few decent and strong characters we tend to feel safe with, with a philosophy that lasts upon our mind for ages despite their short screen time together. If something can be so memorable despite its briefness, then you can certainly say, "YES! That is ART right there!"

I personally love Daenerys Targaryen. Then again, who wouldn't? She's first portrayed as a stereotypical Damsel-in-Distress, and we're pretty sure she'd be the first to get screwed... until she unexpectedly transitions into an outright dominant badass, which has our jaws dropped onto the floor. She needs no Prince Charming, 'coz they be lame!

My knowledge of Game of Thrones is pathetic at best, but I know enough to know that being compared in any way to the badass dragon lady is truly awesome.

Also, have you guys seen the fanart of GoT characters in 90s fashion?  There's one of Daenerys and she's holding three ferrets instead of three dragons.  =D  I'll try to dig it up and post it later today; it is truly epic.

I've been thinking for a while that after i get a new computer, if like to  do some video editing. Specifically I'd like to make a version of Game of Thrones that is somewhat family friendly, or at least, one that implies more than it shows. The gore is too much for my girlfriend to enjoy and  some events in the show would definitely trigger some people so i think I'd be a worthwhile challenge to try not to change the plot too much  so everyone can enjoy the story without all the sticky stuff. Would you guys be interested, like  would you wasn't me to send you guys links to the first episode if i ever get to it?

Ohmygod Bekkler, I've toyed with the idea of doing the exact same thing! That would be an interesting project for sure, and a great challenge.

As someone who has avoided the series because of the sticky stuff, I would greatly appreciate this.

I think this is a great idea.  The show seems interesting but I've avoided it because friends told me it would be triggering.  No pressure though, this sounds like quite the daunting task!

I'm going to Vegas in August to see Wang Chung, Animotion, and a Flock of Seagulls. As part of my evolution to become the god of the 80s, I will see the source of some of its most memorable music in person. That just leaves seeing Howard Jones and Prince, and buying a DMC-12.
