Just an FYI: a glass of champagne, Temporal Flux, and Nocturne in C Sharp Minor is one of the most beautiful experiences someone can ever have. At least if you're building a nighttime environment.

Sounds heavenly.

I'm definitely leaning towards exploring rom hacking at some point now.  For now I'm champagne-less, but I am listening to Steven Wilson and working on a Magus vs. Samus fight in my fanfic; both pretty gratifying experiences.

Writing fight scenes is really exhausting for me, but working with these characters is fun because of the insane potentialities abound.

Fight scenes are the most excruciating to write sometimes; gotta worry about things getting repetitive, so you really have to mix it up and become more inventive, especially if you've got multiple fights in a fic. It's great writing practice though.

I love those days when it's cold outside but the sun is strong, because I get a greenhouse effect in my living room that feels great and reminds me of wondrous places.

"Sun with teeth" is the way to say that in my wife's native tongue.

I like that!

Well, surprisingly there is no change between the two languages, it is what it is, "Sun with teeth" or "Soare cu dinţi".  Quickly looking on google though, I see some say it translates to "Sunshine with teeth" or "frosty sun", though those feel more like liberal translations.

God, I love rain. Even at near freezing temperatures, it's impeccably beautiful. I can't wait for Spring.

I also can't believe how absolutely deserted the UNT campus is, even at 7 AM (I walked to the gym at 6, walked home at 7). Felt post-apocalyptic.

The Opera.

Yeah, the opera.

I saw The Marriage of Figaro earlier this year (or was it late last year?) and it was hilarious. I just saw The Italian Girl in Algiers last night and, again, great fun. I never imagined that opera could be campy, but this was just a few fishnet stockings away from being the Rockey Horror Picture Show. I suppose it might just be this opera company, but I'm hoping not.

Of course, if they didn't project translations of the words/songs, I'd probably not like it as much. But definately worth a looksee if you get the chance.

I love scriptwriting/screenwriting.

It's a very different art form...a minimalist place where what is said is merely a bookmark for what is meant. But it can be a hoot....

VADER
(angrily)
The Rebels are alerted to our
presence. Admiral Ozzel came out
of light-speed too close to the
system.

VEERS
He felt surprise was wiser...

VADER
He is as clumsy as he is stupid.
General, prepare your troops for a
surface attack.

VEERS
Yes, my lord.

Veers tuns smartly and leaves as Vader activates a large viewscreen showing the bridge of his mighty ship. Admiral Ozzel appears on the viewscreen, standing slightly in front of Captain Piett.

OZZEL
Lord Vader, the fleet has moved
out of light-speed and we're
preparing to... Aaagh!

VADER
You have failed me for the last
time, Admiral. Captain Piett.

Piett steps forward, as the admiral moves away, slightly confused, touching his throat as it begins to constrict painfully.

PIETT
Yes, my lord.

VADER
Make ready to land our troops beyond
the energy shield and deploy the
fleet so that nothing gets off that
system. You are in command now,
Admiral Piett.

PIETT
Thank you, Lord Vader.

Of course, the dialogue isn't centered like that...but you get the idea.

Do you get post-apocalyptic nostalgia too?  (As delightful as it is oxymoronic.)

Today's been foggy where I'm at.  I took some nice pictures of the fog rolling in from the top of a mountain.  I was lucky to catch that when I was out running.
