I was at Best Buy this weekend and asked the guy what was different between the 360 and the PS3. He gets really close to me and whispers "Do you want a PS3? We got like 3 in the back."

I'm still wondering why he had to whisper it to me.

Hahaha.  I can go anywhere and see like 5 just sitting around. Does he still think they are hard to find?

That is correct, it is rather complicated but Cell is certainly more powerful than the 360's processor... Xenon, was it? Anyway, the Cell's 7 cores are designed to work independently as separate processors, so essentially the PS3 has 7 3.2Ghz Processors in it. The current games are on par with 360, I agree. But from what developers have told us the PS3 will gradually get games more impressive than those on 360.

That's a misconception. The 7 SPUs of the Cell are not general purpose cores. There is one general purpose core that farms out other specific tasks to the SPUs, which are highly specialized. Really, Cell only has one fully capable core, versus the three in the Xbox 360. While there are some tasks where Cell will outperform other (outwardly) PPC CPUs, gaming isn't really one of them. They're supposedly really nice for streaming media though. That's something.

Oh, really? Thanks for that. Still, I want a PS3 if only for Final Fantasy and Team ICO games. Xbox 360 has a much better line-up so far however.
